.. In 2000 Studio Brussel, Belgium’s biggest alternative radio, started with the now legendary and acclaimed show DUYSTER. Every Sunday from 10pm ’till midnight the finest in slowcore, indietronics, kraut- & postrock, new folk and singer-songwriter collides in 2 hours of unrestrained melancholy and deafening sweetness held together by the beautiful and sincere voice of Ayco Duyster and the exquisite musical taste of Eppo Janssen.

To celebrate the show’s 5th anniversary Studio Brussel and Play It Again Sam joined hands for a deluxe 2 cd set containing a collection of duyster classics and the highlights of the intimite acoustic duyster sessions.

As the reactions on this first compilation exceeded everyone’s expectations and as Ayco’s & Eppo’s classics wishlist and the amount of stunning duyster sessions kept on growing, a follow up was bound to come. On June 6th 2006 duyster.II was released.

This proved to be the start of a unique collection of compilations containing a unique collection of songs.

Now, two years on, Ayco and Eppo have had the privilege of welcoming artists on the show like Iron and Wine, Low and The Shins aswell as new and upcoming talent like Soy Un Caballo, Windmill and Grizzly Bear. Songs from all of these sessions and more are included on duyster.3, which will be released on April 28th 2008. With pride we have also included classics from excellent bands like Blonde Redhead, Boards Of Canada, Broken Social Scene, Modest Mouse and Yo La Tengo.
