I've had the honor and pleasure of playing with musicians from all over Michigan. Joining me on my latest release "Road To Wonderland" are Amy Cook, Mike Carey, Cheryl Carey and Jim Clark who are all members of the band, Acoustic Stew. Fantastic lead guitar work by Matt Mansfield of Traverse City and Alexis Dawdy of Charlevoix on violin. Also, Chandra LaPointe, Dave Schwartz and Dave Runyan from Runyan Media (runyanmedia.com) have all generously shared their talents with me making this project everything.... and more than I could have ever imagined. Thank you all very, very much.
Influences
I've had been influence by all the music I've heard in my life. The biggest influence on my music has been John Prine. Thanks John. If I could pick a few other influences they would be Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Dylan and Casey Chambers. But like I said, it's really all the music I've heard...like just about everyone...that's a lot.
But that is the music part of my life. The poetry in my life - which becomes the lyrics - and then the music is influence by everything that this universe is...a sunset, a child, injustice in the world, searching for peace, love, war, water, stars, beautiful women, moments in time...etc. But the ground of all I say and do, the inspiration for my life itself is Christina my wife and my son Nathan...they are truely gifts from the universe and a power of creation that I will never come close to describing though I will forever keep trying.
