Dye Hollow is a technical, angst driven metal band with
punk and hard rock ties, out of central, kentucky. the
final lineup was formed in late summer of 2005. After
years of playing in various bands, drummer Isrial Brown
and Bassist Alvin Colvin formed Dye Hollow two years
earlier; as a groove- oriented punk driven band. They
played together for two years as Dye Hollow, with just
bass, drums, and Nick Sallee on vocals. Wanting to add
another element to the sound, Marty McMullin joined the
band in late 2004, morphing old Dye Hollow into the
technical metal sound that it is today. Soon after, Nick
decided to leave the band. This paved the way for Dye
Hollow's new vocalist, Katie Reed to join the band. Her
unbelievable vocal range transformed the band into more
of a metal sound with her gut wretching growls; but also
allowed dynamics and variety in the songs with her
ability to sing as well. With Isrial's pounding drum beats,
Alvins groove, and Marty's technicality. The music
compliment's Katie's emotionally driven lyrics, making
the lineup complete. Thus, creating what Dye Hollow is
today and has been since 2005. Dye Hollow provides a
musical explosion that will sedate any metal heads
appitite.
Since Dye Hollow first set foot into the scene, they
have grown to be a formitable band, that is well
recognized and respected in the music scene. Dye
Hollow has been recognized for there originality, and
have been told by many of there fans, and promoters that
"they don't sound like anything else out there". After
listening to there music you will find yourself singing one
of there catchy songs, they easily become embeded in
your memory. Dye Hollow has played many shows since
2005 in and around Kentucky. They have been
recognized by ME Entertainment Magazine, and were
featured in the february issue of 2007. They have also
been featured on aiiradio in louisville, Ky.
Dye Hollow is ready to take the world by storm, and feed
the craving of all the hungry metal heads out there. Dye
Hollow is constintly working on perfecting there craft,
and creating new songs for their listeners. Currently
they have a 3 song Demo that was finished in 2006, at
code room productions, in Lexington, Ky. Dye Hollow
hopes to go back in the studio soon, to work on an
album, that will be distributed to there fans. Dye Hollow
is currently looking for a label and sponsorship, to help
get there music to a mass audience.
