Dying Breed might be new to you but they’ve been rockin’ the Tidewater, Virginia music scene since the early 90’s. For over ten years their musical collaborations have withstood the always changing music scene with an unbreakable bond. Their music has already earned various accolades, honors, local and national awards and recognition from Jim B.E.A.M. Band Grant, Route One South Musical Conference, and endorsed by Halo Guitars. Matt’s vocals can even be heard on a song for NASA’s educational program. In late December 2006, bassist Jason Clark reunited with his old band mates- Matt Barfield on vocals, Sean Wade on guitar, and Chris Price on drums, headed down to Atlanta, GA to record with producers Paul Cobb of Rex Trax Studios and Todd Washburn of Lure Records. Early takes revealed their passion, energy, and tenacity in their music. In July Dying Breed was at work shooting the video for their first single release “Without You” with film maker “Scott Hansen”. The song features their signature aggressive hard drivin’, never give up groove, accented by melodic vocals and monster power guitars. Their debut CD “Dying Breed” is gaining the band national attention after rave reviews from a recent worldwide press release by “Laura Jenney” titled Dying Breed: “Small Town Band With A World Class Sound” which was published by “Rolling Stones Tour News” among hundreds of other Publications. Dying Breed has been a headlining act for the past five years and has also had the honor of sharing the stage with acts, such as, Fuel, Saliva, L.A. Guns, Bullet Boys, George Lynch, Pat Travers, NonPoint, Stuck MoJo, Beaten Back To Pure, Naked Beggars, The All Knowing, Fozzy and also got the chance to perform at Rockfest 2007 in Cadott,WI with 20 other National acts including KISS, Hinder, and Godsmack.
