About me: Dykes On Mics is produced by two hilarious New York based comedians: Leah Dubie and Amy Beckerman. The ladies run a bi-weekly show at Ochi’s Lounge at Comix Comedy Club and travel the country performing comedy and doing outreach in the LGBT community.
The gals formed Dykes on Mics in November 2007, and in less than two years have managed to make a serious impact on the Northeast comedy scene.
Dykes on Mics was accepted into the 2008 Women's Center Stage Festival and were welcomed new faces at The Provincetown Art House during this year's “Women's Week.” Recently featured in the LOGO documentary “Out In The City” along with Isaac Mizrahi, Christine Vachon and Councilwoman Christine Quinn; the group has become a staple in New York City nightlife. Time Out New York dubbed their popular NYC show a BEST BET around town.
They are also a hit on the road, wowing audiences and selling out venues from near and far. Typically, Dykes on Mics will feature other gay or gay-friendly comedians that have been seen on LOGO and Comedy Central. Comedians they have worked with include: Gloria Bigelow (Cherry Bomb, AfterEllen.com), Jackie Monahan (One Night Stand Up, LOGO), Ian Harvie (tours with Margaret Cho), Brad Loekle (Tru TV, LOGO) and Diana Yanez (Wisecrack, LOGO).
