About Dylan Ward

Hi, I'm Dylan Ward. I'm a songwriter living in Boulder, CO. I started writing songs and playing guitar about 12 years ago. I like writing songs using strong images that are bound by a common emotion, and I like to experiment musically - some of my favorite musicians are those that can change their sound significantly from album to album, like Beck and Wilco and Neil Young. I write and record lots of songs; sometimes I gather my focus up and make an album. My last album, Airport Weather, is a set of songs I associate with the end of my longest relationship, moving to Colorado from Virginia, and the first years of my grad work in geology, with all its airplane rides.

I'm currently working on a new album, The End of Upside Down. I have some pretty detailed demos laid down, which I'll either buff into release quality or re-record with Nate and Joe, hopefully for release sometime this summer.

I am the bass player and a lead singer in the alt-country band The Whiskey Bottles. If you want to see me play live anytime soon, a Bottles show is probably your best bet.
