DyMe-A-DuZiN (DyMeZ), whose real name is Donnovan Blocker, is a Sixteen year old emcee born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. At the age of 5 Donnovan became interested in music, he was first inspired by Q The Prophet, a gospel rapper and then performers like Eminem,
Ludacris and a host of other entertainers.
At the age of 7 Donnovan began exercising a very creative writing ability, when kids his is age would be out playing he would be off to himself writing songs and keeping them in his journals. At the age of 9 Donnovan decided to broaden his scope, he began performing at various showcases in the New York City area these opportunities are were he began to expand his style and develop a deeper understanding of Rap Music.
Donnovan Blocker aka DyMe-A-DuZiN is currently rapping, writing songs, creating music videos and producing beats. His most recent performance was for Flex ‘N Brooklyn which aired on BCAT. A wide variety of his music videos can be located on his You Tube page which has over one Million views.(Shawty is a negative -10) was a popular video that was featured on onsmash.com & HOT97.com
DyMe-A-DuZiN is also known for his logo "=X". "=X" is an internet smiley face that DyMeZ defines as two eyes "=" and an "X" over the mouth. The eyes represent someone paying attention & someone "shutting up"(Shut Up N Listen). Another meaning that DyMeZ gave to "=X" is a roman numeral 10 (X) and a side ways roman numeral 2(=) which comes together to make 10 & 12 (DyMe-A-DuZiN)
DyMe-A-DuziN's music is known for its humor, insight, and its sensitivity. While he appreciates a variety of musical style he incorporates the various styles in to his rap music. Donnovan's hope is that this child hood passion will venture into a solo career that will fulfill a life long dream.
