Hey I am a belgian guy living in Mexico City since 1985, Yes, I arrived two weeks before the big earthquake... We made a little revolution over here years ago when I was the co-manager of the "Temple of Underground", Tutti Frutti, mixing the greatest "Psycho-Garage-Punk a Billy" sounds around. And yes I know we also had an amazingly important New & Cold Wave period that influenced a lot of people out there. People from around the world still talk about those crazy nights in the Tutti Frutti!!..

Tutti Frutti was a place hard to find, even today it's dificult to find something similar, completly underground, no fancy signs, no permits, no nothing!!!

We also organized shows with bands such as The Ultra 5, HellBilly's, Tommyknockers, Monomen, Bayou Pigs, as well as most mexican bands as Insolitas Imagenes de Aurora, Caifanes, Maldita Vecindad, Cafe Tacuba, Santa Sabina, Cafe de Nadie, Ninot, Neon, Los Amantes de Lola, La Lupita, Masacre 68, Atoxxico, Bon y los Enemigos del Silencio, Tijuana No and even Javier Batiz among many others,...

In 1992 Tutti Frutti closed their doors but never stopped partying so we were also responsable for some amazing shows, sometimes more than 1600 people showed up, over here in the biggest city in the world, parties, with national and international bands, DJ's,etc... Great times.

After that we still managed "Club X" in Mexico City, but the owners didn't liked the kind of people that came over to party, so they just closed down the place!!

Then we went to Cuernavaca to manage the "Ritual del Perro" a great club, amazing decoration, great bands and way cool owners but maybe a little tooo crazy to be true, so soon it was closed, people that knew the place know what I'm talking about!!

At least we never forgot what it was all about:

Pure Rock 'n Roll, No commercial Shit!!

Here some pictures hanging around with friends and family, some are recent others a while ago, well, you'll notice the difference!!

Started in the piercing and tattoo world in 1980, getting tattoos and piercings in the 80's was way different then it is now, I can tell you that!

After piercing for years in the weirdest situations, as in bars, recordshops, apointments with unknowns in their house, with sewing needles, grandmothers golden jewelry, cleaning with alcohol, "sterilizing" with a lighter and stuff like that, it was time to do something more professional...

So in 1994 I finally opened my own piercing shop here in Mexico City "Wakantanka", the first only piercing shop in Mexico.

Since then we have been totally involved in the piercing bussines, legislation and healthcare among others, we have been on most TV channels, radio stations and in written press always talking and promoting safety and health in the piercing industry.

We also have been involvolved in some conferences in schools, some focused on the students, some for the parents and others for the general public.

I went the last 7 years to the A.P.P. Conferences in Las Vegas and at the moment we are organizing the 4th A.P.P. Seminars in Mexico City!

I was the first A.P.P. member in Mexico, since 2005.

And since 2007 I'am the International Outreach Coordinator of the A.P.P.

Well, this is what the shop looks alike and some of my work, hope you like it!!

A few years ago me and my wife Karem, wrote the book "Perforaciones Corporales" probably the first book in spanish about Body Piercing...

We are also the editors of Mexico's # 1 Bod Mod Magazine "Tatuarte en la Piel".

It's party time at TatuARTE, Issue 72 came out a while ago, yes 6 years of publications, 6 years intervieuwing artists, 6 years of going to tattoo conventions and do the whole coverage, 6 years of articles about tattoos, piercings and other modifications, 6 years of printing 1000's of pictures of different artists from around the world, yes 6 years is a long time but we are not tired yet, so if you have pictures, flashes, info, critics or comments that you wanna share, please feel free to do so, aaaah and if you have some extra money, you can send it as well, hahaha...
