music influenced by my upbringing in Ypsilanti, formal musical training starting in my preteens, an eclectic taste in music and many substantial life experiences.
Dystopian Fiction is a production mob consisting solely of Edward LaRue - producer, sampler & engineer/graphic design. On special occasion, he teams up with Brighton's Chris D. to play keys/guitar & bass guitar, and Ypsi's finest M. Hampton to Co-engineer & shred guitars (Mike Hampton is CEO of Beer-did Records, a separate entity, and plays in punk rock group, 'Two Roads to Mexico' as well as the metal outfit 'Promise of a Few'). Edward, or Ned, is musical allies with many local artists, such as Matt G, Marble Mummy, YP Louis, Rolly F. & Proof Positive, Teddy MC, Jimmy P, and Manifesto. He, in the past, had a tendency to email beats here and there for free, just for collaborations sake. Now, things are changing. The cards are turning for him in many ways. His second daughter was born June Ninth, 2009. Emma, his oldest daughter is three. As his skills as a producer and beat-maker continue to grow, he is finding people are willing to pay him to record. This way, the gear is improving in quality, he is able to further his education, cover the costs of living as well as provide everything his family needs. Soon-to-be married to Melissa, Ned aka Doc LaRue is in the fast lane to success.
