Το συγκρότημα δημιουργήθηκε το φθινόπωρο του 1994 στη Θεσσαλονίκη.
Το Μάρτιο 2007 κυκλοφορεί ο πρώτος δίσκος με τίτλο «Μια φωνή που ταξιδεύει» και περιλαμβάνει δέκα τραγούδια σε στίχους και μουσική του συγκροτήματος καθώς και μία επανεκτέλεση στο τραγούδι «Αυτόν τον κόσμο τον καλό».
Στα τέλη του 2008 συμμετέχει στην ηλεκτρονική συλλογή του Rockap.gr (underground όνειρα) με το τραγούδι «Έφυγες».
Στις αρχές του 2010 κυκλοφορεί ελεύθερα το τραγούδι «Εδώ είναι Ελλάδα ρε!».
Στις συναυλίες οι «Δυτικός Άνεμος» εκτός από τις συνθέσεις τους, διασκευάζουν τραγούδια από την ελληνική και διεθνή μουσική σκηνή, με ιδιαίτερο χαρακτηριστικό τον δεμένο συμπαγή ήχο και την θετική ατμόσφαιρα που δημιουργούν.
Το συγκρότημα έχει στο ενεργητικό του ζωντανές εμφανίσεις σε τηλεοπτικές και ραδιοφωνικές εκπομπές, συμμετοχές σε φεστιβάλ και συνεργασίες επί σκηνής με μουσικούς και συγκροτήματα από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό.

DYTIKOS ANEMOS (WEST WIND)
The band was formed in autumn 1994 in Thessaloniki.
The March 2007 released his first album titled "Mia foni pou taxidevi" (A voice that travels) and contains ten songs with lyrics and music of the band and a remix to the song "Afton ton kosmo ton kalo" (This world good).
In late 2008 engaged in the electronic collection Rockap.gr (underground dreams) with the song "Efiges" (You left).
In early 2010 move freely singing "Edo ine Ellada re!" (Here is Greece man!).
On the concert the "West Wind" in addition to the compositions, playing arrangements of songs from Greek and international music scene with a special feature tied to massive sound and positive atmosphere they create.
The group has assets of live performances on television and radio, participating in festivals and collaborations on stage with musicians and bands from Greece and abroad.
