Murdie's Interests
|
| General | My kids. Their kids. 2 very pretty young ladies. 4 wheeling, both in my Jeep and on my Griz. Goofing on people. Cars. Trout fishing. Swimming. Topography. History. Discovery. Food. Movies. Fighting with my dog. Antagonizing my cats. Annoying the living hell out of the general populace. Getting out of the situation just before the defication hits the oscillitory device. Wondering when the hell Verizon Wireless is going to provide cell service in the anus of the world that we call home. Beautiful area, but it seems we have butt cheeks surrounding us. | | Music | My 5.9 Limited. Well over 300 HP at the crank, 3" factory low restriction exhaust, wild cam profile (roller, of course), radical advance curve with a hard shifting 46re tranny and high stall converter putting the power through a NV 249 to 3.73 gears. A full throttle assault makes all 4 tires sing, the fuel gage cry, and makes the most beautiful sound since the 440 six pack! Songs are OK as well. I said songs. Not hip hop or rap. | | Movies | Ones that don't insult my intelligence. I know how many rounds a weapon holds, and that if you hold a handgun at a 90° angle, you might as well throw the thing at your target, regardless of maximum effective range. | | Television | Simpsons. Fox News Channel. Discovery. NatGeo. History. Top Gear. Are you smarter than a 5th grader (no, I'm not, but I am smarter than the teachers they have on). Family Guy. Car 54 where are you. | | Books | The Bible. Motors. Chilton. Haynes. To the mountains by rail. Nearly anything by Granville King (rip) or
Floyd Clymer (also rip). I have a 'Jeep bible' written by Granville, I don't have a 'Jeep bible' written by Floyd which is no big deal, he didn't write one. | | Heroes | Willie N. and John M. Willie was the Woodbourne cop, marriage counsellor, mediator, arbitrator and the keeper of the peace where I grew up. He was the reason I got into law enforcement. John had a service station and gave me my start in the automotive industry, which I love to this day. He also introduced me to honest business practices at a very early age. Willie is dead, well after retirement. If John is still alive I wish him the best, I haven't seen him in a looooong time. |

Murdie's Blurbs |
About me:
Nothing special, just an ace mechanic, general genious and all around nice guy who was forced into early retirement because I can't sit around inside a prison laughing all day anymore. They said I couldn't function effectively in a riot situation. I worked in Woodbourne CF for cripes sake! A nice little jail in the Catskills! Now I just hang out in the middle of no where and wonder what I'll be if I grow up.

Who I'd like to meet:
Jeez! I used to have heroes. Today I know they're just people who were in the right place at the right time. I have come to realize that the important part is at the base of society, the family. The folks struggling to support and raise kids in today's world, the parents who help with the homework, nurture, care for, and ultimately mold the children into responsible adults are the heroes.
I guess I'd like to meet those who would harm our children in any way - drugs, abuse, etc, and educate them in the error of their ways, my way.
