Earl Leonard has been playing guitar since he was sixteen, but writing and singing songs for as long as he can remember. As the singer and rhythm guitarist for Melbourne blues/folk band The Red Cents, the Ballarat rock-band The Rye Catchers and as a solo performer he has toured all around Victoria, much of Australia and parts of the UK.
________________________________________________________________
Between his two bands Earl has released two albums, two Eps and three singles, writing slightly more than half of the songs. Both bands have featured on various compilation disks too and received generous airplay on radio stations such as Melbourne's Triple R & PBS, the national youth network Triple J and Ballarat commercial station Power FM. Actually the Rye catchers Yeahnah single (that reached number 5 in the national AIR chart) was played on community stations in every state and territory except for the ACT (but that's pollitics for you). ________________________________________________________________
Earl has supported The Brian Fraiser Trio, Spencer P. Jones, Dan Kelly, Matt Walker and many more of Australias best blues/roots and rock acts. He also recently discovered that he'd like to write comics and/or short stories for children of all ages and will be looking for a literary agent soon (if you are or know of one, let Earl know). But he really likes writing songs. He'd like to thank his wife, Rachel, not only for marrying him but also for doing the artwork for his new CD, and everyone else that helped him make this recording possible especially; Jarrod, Renae, Josh and Paddy O. Two of the above songs are samples of what you'll get.
