JOEL - joel@earmusic.co.uk Is the booker and is master of all things orange. He heads the team after giving birth to the eARmusic baby over 4 years ago. After many months of caring for the little scamp, we realise just how special this wee bairn is. "Let us all care for the eARmusic baby!" you cry!? Basically MAIL our booker Joel on joel@earmusic.co.uk if you want to play, bookings are updated for all the venues, and thus proceed into gigdom. Frequently sporting the eARmusic colour of orange, you may notice him whooping wildly at any of the eARmusic venues.
RUAIRI - ruairi@earmusic.co.uk Some say his headphones are fantastically attached to his eARs and that his dancing inspires the great routines of many great dance routines. You may find him at any of the eARmusic showcases, taking the odd pic or inspiring the legendary dance routines of many great dance routines.
SIMBA - simba@earmusic.co.uk He used to live near Batman Avenue which means he's great. We love Simba. He spreads himself across many venues for eARmusic, including our Monkey Chews showcases on Weds and Thurs, The Cross Kings on various Wednesdays, The Old Queens Head monthlies, The Albert and Pearl eARmusic OPEN MIC on Sunday nights whilst also carving it up with IN BETWEEN DAYS (check our friend link).
OLLY - olly@earmusic.co.uk His commitment to eARmusic knows no bounds. You can find him fronting our monthly nights at The Old Queens Head and The Lock Tavern or showing big love to all the eARs at any of our other showcases. He's also our producer, so any demo requirements that can't be fixed at our Tuesday live recording nights = speak to him.
LUCY - lucy@earmusic.co.uk Lucy is our collective eARmusic girlfriend. She books and runs our Wednesday showcases up at Monkey Chews and The Cross Kings with Simba. You'll find her at the door holding the fort whilst Simba endlessly twiddles knobs at the sound desk. Sling either of them or Joel an email if you're on the hunt for a slot at one of our Wednesdays nights.
eARmusic season ticket merchandise now on sale!! Buy any T-Shirt or Hoodie and gain FREE ENTRY to any of our gigs for a year!! Ts £20, Hoodies £22, Thongs £5. Thongs are excluded from the season ticket deal, though you never know what a flash of buttcheek at the door might get you...
Sorry for the shameless attempt to get attention with the above!! Though the banner speaks the truth! Every Tuesday we take our recording gear to Monkey Chews and run recordings from as little as £5/track. Every track is mixed down and EQ'd the following day, so it's not just a "line out" to an MP3 player type job! If you're looking for something even better, we can take the recordings into the studio for even more extensive mixing and mastering for only £10/track too. Check out www.myspace.com/earmusicrecordings to hear examples of our previous efforts, then sling Joel an email at joel@earmusic.co.uk to book in!

FRIZZ RECORDS is proud to announce our fourth LP release...
London-born with a heritage both European and Ghanaian, LEILA ADU was brought up in New Zealand, and is now based in Rome
She has been described as 'A Nina Simone for the Noughties', and her two acclaimed albums infuse a broadly 'art-rock' approach with elements of torch song, speakeasy blues, avant garde jazz, gamelan, the post-rock textures of Slint and Tortoise, and a David Lynch style dreamlike b-movie melodrama. As her website has it, exploring the "dissonant edges of familiar forms", but with that kind of 'dissonance' that they once accused Thelonious Monk or Debussy of, the kind that soon betrays it's own compelling melodic and harmonic logic to the attentive listener...
'Dark Joan', Leila's third album as a solo artist, was recorded in Chicago with the legendary Steve Albini (PJ Harvey, Joanna Newsome, Nirvana, Pixies), and Albini's genius has been to strip her sound back to it's essence, and hold it's most distinctive qualities up to the light. It doesn't hurt that this is by far Leila's most powerful set of songs to date, and if anything we are lead even deeper into her world by the pictures painted with just piano (or in some cases harpsichord or a grime-encrusted electric piano) and that voice...
Capable of anything from delicate heartbreaking purity to a fearsome dramatic power, her powers are seemingly limitless, yet unlike most other singers of her calibre, never does she resort to melodrama or show-boating, or any kind of pastiche, instead she employs her resources fully in the expression of her distinctive musical vision and the deep well-spring of her imagination. Nothing ever sounds as though it could have not been sung...

Review: "Don Goliath's "Bagstep EP" (DDR030) is one of those innovative EPs showcasing how versatile Dubstep can get. The unique idea of creating Dubstep versions of celctic (Irish as well as Scottish) folk classics for all you drunkards longing to sing along was Don Goliath's motto when producing this madness. The concept is as simple as effective: he picked 4 of your grandpa's favourites such as "Old Skibbereen", "Scotland the Brave", "Drunken Sailor" and "Amazing Grace" having the melody played by a definitly non-sober Bagpipe section and then layering it with lofi mid range wobbleism - we therefor call it Bagstep. Overall production quality is high grade with that intense sub focus so you can blow-dry your hair right in front of the bass bins. Now let's get into the tunes: "Skibbereen Bagstep" is one of the melancolic minor tunes expressing Irish history as it is. It is an unmixable 3/4 waltz beat at unusual 154bpm, well dancebal though when one moves to the triplets. "Bagstep the brave" should be one of the sickest rebuilds of the Scottish national anthem making it Mel Gibson's signature tune if he had one. "Drunken Bagstep" is a Glitchfest version of the sailors anthem capable of getting you uberdrunk by listening alone, Arrrr! "Amazing Bagstep" is as religious as it gets making it a tune that'll certainly safe xamounts of lost souls. Enjoying the dancefloor got even easier now: drink out the bar, make your skirt fly and sing along to these (future) classics! Some will hate this release and some will love it, there barely is anything in between. All Dubstep Division crew salutes the latter as our fellow beerheadz! cheeeeeerz!"
