The eARmusic frontline. "Just who are they?" we hear you cry...:

JOEL - joel@earmusic.co.uk
Is the booker and is master of all things orange. He heads the team after giving birth to the eARmusic baby over 4 years ago. After many months of caring for the little scamp, we realise just how special this wee bairn is.
"Let us all care for the eARmusic baby!" you cry!? Basically MAIL our booker Joel on joel@earmusic.co.uk if you want to play, bookings are updated for all the venues, and thus proceed into gigdom. Frequently sporting the eARmusic colour of orange, you may notice him whooping wildly at any of the eARmusic venues.

RUAIRI - ruairi@earmusic.co.uk
Some say his headphones are fantastically attached to his eARs and that his dancing inspires the great routines of many great dance routines. You may find him at any of the eARmusic showcases, taking the odd pic or inspiring the legendary dance routines of many great dance routines.

SIMBA - simba@earmusic.co.uk
He used to live near Batman Avenue which means he's great. We love Simba. He spreads himself across many venues for eARmusic, including our Monkey Chews showcases on Weds and Thurs, Slim Jim's on various Thursdays, The Hawley Arms monthlies, The Queen Boadicea eARmusic OPEN MIC on Sunday nights whilst also carving it up with IN BETWEEN DAYS (check our friend link). If you fancy a Weds slot at our eARmusic meets Broken Toy Music Wednesday - sling him or Gabby an email!

OLLY - olly@earmusic.co.uk
His commitment to eARmusic knows no bounds. You can find him fronting our monthly nights at The Old Queens Head and The Lock Tavern or showing big love to all the eARs at any of our other showcases. He's also our producer, so any demo requirements that can't be fixed at our Tuesday live recording nights = speak to him.

LUCY - lucy@earmusic.co.uk
Lucy is our collective eARmusic girlfriend. She books and runs our Wednesday showcase up at Monkey Chews with Simba. You'll find her at the door holding the fort whilst Simba endlessly twiddles knobs at the sound desk. Sling either of them or Joel an email if you're on the hunt for a slot at one of our Wednesdays nights at Monkey Chews.

Don Goliath "Bagstep EP" (DDR030) is out now!

Review:
"Don Goliath's "Bagstep EP" (DDR030) is one of those innovative EPs showcasing how versatile Dubstep can get. The unique idea of creating Dubstep versions of celctic (Irish as well as Scottish) folk classics for all you drunkards longing to sing along was Don Goliath's motto when producing this madness. The concept is as simple as effective: he picked 4 of your grandpa's favourites such as "Old Skibbereen", "Scotland the Brave", "Drunken Sailor" and "Amazing Grace" having the melody played by a definitly non-sober Bagpipe section and then layering it with lofi mid range wobbleism - we therefor call it Bagstep. Overall production quality is high grade with that intense sub focus so you can blow-dry your hair right in front of the bass bins. Now let's get into the tunes: "Skibbereen Bagstep" is one of the melancolic minor tunes expressing Irish history as it is. It is an unmixable 3/4 waltz beat at unusual 154bpm, well dancebal though when one moves to the triplets. "Bagstep the brave" should be one of the sickest rebuilds of the Scottish national anthem making it Mel Gibson's signature tune if he had one. "Drunken Bagstep" is a Glitchfest version of the sailors anthem capable of getting you uberdrunk by listening alone, Arrrr! "Amazing Bagstep" is as religious as it gets making it a tune that'll certainly safe xamounts of lost souls.
Enjoying the dancefloor got even easier now: drink out the bar, make your skirt fly and sing along to these (future) classics!
Some will hate this release and some will love it, there barely is anything in between. All Dubstep Division crew salutes the latter as our fellow beerheadz! cheeeeeerz!"

FRIZZ RECORDS is proud to announce our third LP release...

"Anutha Kinda Brotha" is the debut LP from underground legend ART TERRY. Since moving to the UK from his native Los Angeles in the early 90s, Mr Terry has established himself as one of London's characters.

Describing Art's sound to the uninitiated usually involves debunking some of the stereotypes of what the 'typical' black Californian might play. Despite his jazz training, and coming of age to the sounds of classic soul and funk, these styles are only a part of his musical vision. His fascination with folk styles, classical music, punk rock, pure pop, easy listening, musical theatre and the European avant garde have taken him on different paths from most...

The result is an orchestral pop record full of sonic inventiveness, whether it's the blend of Shuggie Otis's 60s California and Sun Ra's ancient Egypt on 'Bible', Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons leading a mariachi band on 'Escort', or the Walt Disney music box orchestra of 'Miss Dominatrix', but whilst this is very much a sonic feast, we shouldn't overlook Art's extraordinary lyrical adeptness, and the distinctive character this brings to the proceedings, with a knack for unique and colourful imagery, and how like a great short story writer he is able to paint an engaging picture whilst keeping back from casting judgement on his characters, always leaving open ends for the listener to tie; giving us the feeling that however far astray someone might have gone, there is always sympathy and human feeling for them in Art's mind...

FRIZZ RECORDS is proud to announce our second official LP release...

"Modern Mediaeval" is the third LP from singer-songwriter DAVID GARSIDE, and the first to receive the full Frizz Records vinyl treatment. It’s also clearly the most fully-realised statement of his distinctive vision so far…

It’s an easy route to locate David in the tradition of his ‘classic’ rock, pop & soul influences (McCartney, Nick Drake, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, The Beach Boys, Love, Talking Heads, Peter Gabriel, Dexy’s…), but there are few songwriters working today that have absorbed these
This is ’singer-songwriter’ music in the sense that it’s focus is on song-craft and the unfolding of the lyrical vision of a single individual, but if so then it’s definitely at the sophisticated end of the scale (’progressive’ if that term isn’t too loaded…), filed alongside ‘Bryter Layter’, ‘The Hissing Of Summer Lawns’, ‘Pretzel Logic’ or ‘Surf’s Up’...another FRIZZ RECORDS instant classic!
"Modern Mediaeval" can be downloaded now from the iTunes Store (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=319307665&s=143444)

The album is also available on heavyweight vinyl LP in a sumptuous gatefold sleeve, or on Digipack CD from the FRIZZ online shop (http://www.frizzrecords.com/?page_id=5&view_type=default&product_search=modern+mediaeval&search=Search) ...& all good retailers
