"E.I.Y.," or "Earn It Yourself," is a philosophy built on the premise that everyone can and should use the Do It Yourself method of the underground to work toward their goals—but they should not accept the guilt people force on them when they succeed in achieving their goals (the guilt that comes with being called a sell-out by your former friends and fans). As long as you have reached your goals and earned your success without compromising your integrity or your values, and have paved your path toward achieving your goals with painstaking effort and devotion, you deserve whatever level of success you desire—be it selling out a basement show or an arena.
