Earshot Offers Fans New Music Digital Downloads For Free!
On October 16, Listeners Can Download Earshot’s New Single,
“The Ugly Truth”
LOS ANGELES, CA – October 17, 2009 – Always looking to push the envelope, Earshot lead singer, Wil Martin announced today that the band is launching their official website, and free online music distribution channel, www.earshotband.com. Starting October 20, Earshot’s new single,
“The Ugly Truth” will be available as a high quality MP3 complete with ringtones, lyric sheet and exclusive artwork.
“Obviously giving away music isn’t a new idea since bands have been doing it for some time,” acknowledges Martin. “However, I do think ‘albums’ are becoming more irrelevant. This new venture allows us, as a band, to connect with our fans in an innovative way, using all of the tools of technology that’s been put at our disposal. As the late Dimebag Darrell once said to me, ‘You gotta either jump on the train, or get run over and killed by it.’”
As a follow up to “The Ugly Truth,” Earshot will continue to roll out new material on the site every two to three months, giving fans immediate access to the most current, fresh music from the band.
“As an artist, I’m continuously evolving and being inspired each and every day,” said Martin. “I want to deliver music that’s artistically in the present and at the speed of now. My philosophy is simple, keep our music new and exciting while at the same time making it easily accessible.”
To download the free music, fans simply go to www.earshotband.com and fill out a private email form. By participating in Earshot’s site, fans not only get free music, but they can also reach out to the band directly, creating a more personal, uninterrupted dialogue.
“The vision is to build a stronger relationship with our fans,” explains Martin. “We want to get to know them. Now that we’re fully independent, we have the latitude to do just that – which is very cool!”

I like the new song "The Ugly Truth". It carries on that vibe from the last album a bit but it sounds absolute EARSHOT! I love your guys sound and so long as you don't switch up the formula of what got you where you are in the first place, I'm with you 100% I don't want the same song every time out and I know you guys strive for better with each album but there's a "vibe" when every band starts out. Some stick with what got them paid and ride that for as long as it lasts and then there are those that expirement so much that they go off on the deep end....whatever you do....DO NOT...let me repeat....DO NOT DO THAT! Please! For the love of heavy rock music, let this next LP and all future releases expand upon the previous records' sound yet stay within your boundaries! You guys just got IT. Don't remove IT from your sound...why on earth the rest of the world hasn't caught up with you guys is beyond me but truthfully, I kinda like it that way...
I know it doesn't make your wallets fatter but you have my utmost loyalty and if you ever make it down to South Texas and more specifically, Laredo, TX, we'll all be sure to make it worth your while! Awesome, thanks guys for your help. I got it to work this time and I look foward to hearing the new song. I am definately an old school fan, I remember seeing Earshot open up for Hoobastank and Pressure 4-5 in Las Vegas years ago and no one knew who you were at the time including myself and you guys just came out and fuckin' rocked it!
