Vancouver’s They Shoot Horses Don’t They hold off some indie-rock juggernauts Metric, Spoon and Interpol and at the top of the !earshot monthly charts
While They Shoot Horses… tops the charts, Vancouver continues to spawn great new bands. We talk to three of them. Lightning Dust (at number 7 this month) are part of the larger Black Mountain collective. The Choir Practice hail from the more pop-oriented Mint side of Vancouver and take a unique ‘vocal’ slant on pop music. Capade, meanwhile is twin-trouble from eastern Europe.
From the other side of the country comes jazz vocalist Carol McCartney supporting her recent album A Night in Tunisia.
