About me:

Visit the EARSHOT website: earshotnyc.com

The EARSHOT READING SERIES showcases the most exciting and powerful writing by emerging poets and authors in the greater New York City area. The series was founded in February 2005, and lived on the Lower East Side of NYC until January 2006, when it moved shop to Williamsburg, Brooklyn. All readings are held at The Lucky Cat.

EARSHOT provides an opportunity for graduate writing students to share their work with an audience that reaches beyond the MFA community. Each reading also highlights the literary merits of one or more established writers, usually in the midst of bursting onto the scene. The events, therefore, allow writers of different levels of achievement and varied styles to mingle freely. Poets and prose writers (both fiction and non-fiction) are equally encouraged to submit and participate. Readings are bi-monthly, featuring a diverse range of voices.

Read an interview with EARSHOT founder and host Nicole Steinberg at Until Monday: BKLN!

Who I'd like to meet:
Bright-eyed, bushy-tailed writers currently enrolled in NYC MFA/MA programs in Creative Writing and emerging, non-MFA writers with (some) gloat-worthy publications and successes under their belts.

If you fit into either of the above categories, visit earshotnyc.com for information on how to submit work for a future reading! Also visit to join the EARSHOT mailing list!

"EARSHOT is a force of... reckoning. Or nature. Either one."

How come I'm the only one leaving comments on here? What gives?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading at Earshot this Friday, and to sending jive ass rhapsodies ricocheting through the chromasphere.
