2008 is going to begin my journey; my journey to live a more earth aware life. I won't be able to change overnight but I'm going to start learning more, and living greener. It seems like within the last year or so more attention to living green has made headlines everywhere from the news to the movies. Some say global warming exists, some say it doesn't, and some say it's a political agenda. I didn't pay much attention either way until one day something caught my attention. My husband showed me this you tube video that broke it down to the simplest of terms. I was moved. Little did I know when I sat down that those five minutes would change me the way it did. When the video was over I knew I had to do something. Maybe start off by changing a habit or two but I can't just ignore the information. So that's the reason for my motivation to green. I've decided to keep a blog of my journey and maybe along the way I'll inspire one or more of my friends to do something as well. I've also acquired the domain of earthawareness.com. I am going to use the site to feature articles that interest me, links to helpful green sites and earth-friendly products that I run across along my journey. Check it out when you have a chance and let me know what you think. I hope you'll check back periodically to see how my road to green is going and share your own green adventures. Here's to 2008 and a greener, greater you!

Anthony Marr	Jul 1 2009 10:43 PM For 30 years, Jan Haagensen has been harassed and her farm in PA invaded with impunity by hunters, and her NO HUNTING signs and fences repeatedly torn down. 10 years ago, she had had enough, and approached the trespassing hunters to ask them to leave, and asked a hunter engaged in illegal hunting to cease and desist. When a hunter threatened to shoot her and her mother, she called police, which sided chummily with the hunters, and later charged her with 5 counts of "hunter harassment". The "kangaroo court" convicted her on all 5 counts. Being an attorney, she appealed to the appellate court and won, and is now challenging the PA Hunter Harassment Statute in federal court as being unconstitutional for inhibiting free speech and violating property rights. If she wins, doors will be open for challenging the equally unconstitutional Hunter Harassment laws of other states. With wind and solar in abundance, why coal and such massive carnage? What kind of an America are Amreicans leaving to their children? The full title of this video is "The Debeautification of America-the-Beautiful", but it is "America-the-Not-So-Beautiful" now. Alternatively, it is called "John Denver weeps for West Virginia". Sitting there, doing nothing but heating up the atmosphere, so solar parking lots! Community-sustained, secure, renewable electricity! Bonus = community jobs! All over America! So I’m back at university learning GIS to analyze each town’s paved parking areas (Greensboro NC (pop 247,000) has 10.27 square miles of it that will power over 500,000 homes (every year) if covered with photovoltaics!) and I’m starting put_a_lid_on_it …………..……….
