Celebrating James' 60th Birthday at Sunrise Festival 2007
With much sadness we must share the news that James Yellow submarine Backstage much loved caretaker of the Rainbow Centre Kentish Town passed away into the other worlds on Tues 12th June 2007. After celebrating his 60th Birthday with us at the Sunrise Celebration he went out on a high celebrating with friends family and Tribe.
The final transmission from Yellow sub radio, Planet James

for his birthday and gave him his golden lighter award for
services above and beyond the call, to community centre
caretaking. The Spirit of the Yellow Sub will be with us always, beloved by thousands on the scene from his days with Osibisa to Sugumugu and the Master drummers of Africa, to his legendary caretaking at the Rainbow Centre Kentish town book of the Dread, to all his Warp adventures and solid service with the Brixton Tea Party, Glitterland and all the Tribe who knew and loved him at the festivals.

Circle Community Anniversary Take1
21min - Activists of the Circle Community have a 1st year Anniversary Party at the St. George's Theatre. After the first track, the clip features an introduction by Phoenix, a poem by Paradox - 'Whats My Name'; the song 'Other Worlds are Possible - an end to war' by Sarah Bear; and a second song accompanied by Phoenix and Rob the Rub, followed by Paradox performing a second poem 'Don't Panic'. The former church and theatre building in London's Borough of Islington had been occupied as part of a campaign to stop it being lost to the community as a result of the local authority selling it into the private sector. Islington Council responded by sending in the bailiffs within about a month of this event (shame on Islington Council).

About me:
Not so long ago, 1992, in a continent far far away, a summit for the Earth was held where people assembled from every country on earth to create an agenda for the 21st century (Agenda 21). Sustainable Development or sustained development? In Rio de Janeiro, the walls were built higher around the favellas and ghettos, while the politicians sped past in limousines, the street homeless kids were rounded up and shot. The children of the world produced their own Agenda for the twenty first century which was called "rescue mission planet earth" pointing out all the things the adults had left out in the repair plan for the earth. Being aware of this a group of intrepid folk in the UK began to reclaim urban space, squatting and recycling empty buildings into Rainbow Centres, DIY Centres, Do-it-yourself culture, DIY environment centres, direct action, do it yourself Agenda 21, not willing to wait for the politicians and multinationals to squander the last of the earths resources. The Camden squats, the ideas seeded, to use squatted reclaimed space for environmental action spaces, living and creative zones, providing skill-sharing and workshop spaces on a donations basis. The One world Rainbow Centre project was born ...
