Mit Freude können wir Euch die erstplazierte Band des Earthshaker Band Contests präsentieren:

SUPERSOMA werden das Earthshaker Fest vom 19. - 21.07.2007 in 92286 Rieden eröffnen !

Die 5 Mönchengladbacher stehen für unglaubliche Live Qualität, die sich die Band auf zahlreichen Touren erspielen konnte, und für stilistische Vielfalt: Thrash gemischt mit Doom, Stoner und einer Prise klassischen Melodic Rocks ergeben zusammen mit Frontstimme Ingo ein unvergessliches Erlebnis mit Nackenbrecher Songs bis hin zu energiegeladenen Balladen. SUPERSOMA konnten auch bereits zahlreiche Auszeichnungen ergattern, unter anderem mit einem Song auf der Sampler CD im Rock Hard Magazin und im Finale der deutschen Rock and Pop Awards in Hamburg.

Wir gratulieren und freuen uns auf den Opener Auftritt am Earthshaker Donnerstag !

With pleasure we present the first contest winner:
SUPERSOMA has gained the most votes for the bandcontest and will open the Earthshaker Fest from July 19th - 21st 2007 in 92286 Rieden GER !

Their incredible live qualities are the result of years of touring, from opening act to headliner, from garage days to festivals. But it’s not only the live performances that make Supersoma special, it‘s also the variety of their musical styles. Thrash is mixed with Doom and Stoner as well as they mix it up with classic melodic rock when in the mood – especially due to the vocals of shouter Ingo whose singing and growling performance can be just as intense as the ones of –psst! – Phil Anselmo. While the main part of a Supersoma live-set consists of neckbreaking up-tempo songs it’s always the touchy, highly energetic ballads that will make people keep this band in mind when they leave the stage. But it’s not only the people who keep them in mind: The Rock Hard Magazine, Germany’s leading print magazine for heavy metal music, honoured Supersoma by putting one of their songs on the magazine’s monthly CD-sampler and Supersoma also made it into the finals of last years German Rock And Pop Awards in Hamburg.

Congratulations and we are looking forward to welcome you at the Earthshaker Thursday as the opener act on mainstage !

Special Sepultura & J.B.O. show!

On March 19th, the Pink Army Party Machine known as J.B.O. hooked up with metal gods SEPULTURA backstage in Munich (at the Backstage, ironically...) for a secret summit meeting, where the Brazilians played their last show on the German leg of their current world tour. The highest security measures were taken, with all toilet seats wiped clean, garbage cans filled to overflowing, and hundreds of fans standing watch in front of the venue. The top priority for the summit was the continued nurturing and intensifying of the German-Brazilian cultural relationship, which will be taken to new heights in July at this year's Earthshaker Festival when both bands hit the stage together if everything goes according to plan.

A representative for both bands called the meeting "very positive"; more details will be revealed soon. In spite of all the secrecy, however, sources indicate that when the band's hit the stage together they will not only play the Sepultura classic 'Roots Bloody Roots' and a J.B.O. track, they will also do a third as-yet-unrevealed song.

During the summit, German cultural representatives Hannes Holzmann, Vito C., Ralph Bach and Wolfram Kellner introduced their South American colleagues to their very own Erlanger Bier. Andreas, Derrick and Co. were suitably impressed:

"You have your own brand of beer? Why don't we have our own brand of Caipirinha?"

The world will be watching the Earthshaker Festival from July 19th - 21st. Insiders are already talking about a historical metal moment in the making.

Within Temptation

Cradle Of Filth

Love 'em or hate 'em, everybody knows who they are, and there's simply no getting away from this five-headed monster from the dark and dirty streets of England. CRADLE OF FILTH are back, prepared to shake your hand and slit your throat as they bring their newest masterpiece, "Thornography", to the stage. Featuring singer/songwriter/master of ceremonies Dani Filth, it is the band's heaviest and most dynamic album to date. Louder, harder, faster, darker, CRADLE OF FILTH are a heavy metal maelstrom that have become a major league institution amongst their loyal legions of the damned. Vader Vader

VADER are considered by many to be a phenomenon, and rightly so. Like an armour-plated tank on the warpath, even their warning shots are delivered as salvos of brutalitity regardless of whether their death metal onslaught is more traditional or atmospheric in nature. Excellent! THIS is death metal at its finest, where every single note makes sense, which is why the band has been invited to play the Earthshaker stage this year. Watch for a performance that has "first rate" stamped all over it. You're guaranteed to be impressed by death metal at its finest.

After Forever

AFTER FOREVER, the Dutch band featuring charismatic and entrancing frontwoman Floor Jansen, deliver their own special brand of bombastic metal that is not only dynamic and unique, but multi-faceted as well, allowing them to cover a wide musical spectrum. With that in mind, seeing them on stage is always a kick in the ass, and you can expect just such a performance at this year's Earthshaker Festival accompanied by a sea of hands raised in praise and pumping the air in time.

Masterplan

Mike DiMeo, former frontman for RIOT and THE LIZARDS, has made his mark with MASTERPLAN as the band's new singer, putting in a more than impressive performance that adds to the already established flair of the band. In fact, it's impossible to deliver a better debut performance. With ex-RAGE drummer Mike Terrana behind the kit MASTERPLAN have never sounded so tight, delivering an album (MKII) that simply blows you away, proving once again the band is a force to be reckoned when it comes to songwriting and overall performance. What more could fans want than a killer album from their heroes? Right: seeing the band on stage as soon as possible. You won't have to wait long, because they're at the Earthshaker this July.

Desperadoz

Alex Kraft (also the guitarist for Onkel Tom's live band) is an artist that considers music an adventure and something that need to be experienced, not merely heard. His vision is the DEZPERADOZ, planting heavy metal in the middle of the Wild West with characters like the legendary Wyatt Earp, on whom the concept album "The Legend And The Truth" is based. Fat, rocking guitars with an undeniable Western flair, grooving melodies and a goosebump-raising atmosphere, you're invited to a heavy metal showdown aftershow party. Grave Digger

The scythe is sharpened and they're coming to Kreuth to use it! We're talking about GRAVE DIGGER, of course, a true metal institution of the highest order. The Swedish six-piece batallion known as SABATON will hit the Earthshaker Fest this year and their battle cry is "Fire At Will!" Set to release their own brand of precise, explosive guitar riffs and thundering drums, every salvo the Swedes unleash is guaranteed to hit the mark. Sabaton's power metal wartunes are perfect for an open air party, and pure adrenaline for any headbanger.

Testament

You spoke and we listened. The first headliner of the first Earthshaker has now been confirmed for this year's 5 year Anniversary edition. And because it's best to celebrate a special occasion with a close circle of good friends it only made sense to invite riff master Eric Peterson, vocal monster Chuck Billy and the rest of TESTAMENT to the party. There's no question or doubt of being treated to a top-notch thrash extravaganza, but the band has something special in store: the Earthshaker Festival 2007 will be ground zero for a world premier, as Testament performs some brand new songs from their forthcoming studio album live for the very first time! On top of this, ex-CRADLE OF FILTH/ex-DIMMU BORGIR drummer Nick Barker will be behind the kit for TESTAMENT, boosting the thrash factor even higher. Get ready for world class thrash at its finest!

God Dethroned

Holland's GOD DETHRONED are another major highlight on this year's Earthshaker billing. Call it full-serve Death Metal that'll take your head off with it's technical yet straightforward execution. Graveworm

For fans of a dark yet modern sound, the Sudtirol institution known as GRAVEWORM will be a highlight at this year's Earthshaker Festival. For 10 years now these road warriors, featuring singer Stefan Fiori and keyboardist Sabine Mair, have proven their metal and their mettle with successful albums such as "Engraved In Black" and "(N)utopia", hitting hard with a straight-on Death sound featuring modern elements that always make for a great show from this unique sextet.

Sepultura

The true classic acts in rock and metal history aren't known strictly for incredible songs and world class production, but for thematic concepts as well. Sepultura are known for all three, in particular for their legendary masterpiece Roots, which was inspired by the Xavante Indians. In 2007 Sepultura continue to offer up uncompromising, adrenalin pumping, no-nonsense metal of the highest order and they're bringing it to the Earthshaker Festival.
