About me: the easdale Island Folk Museum was opened in 1981 and has proved to be a great success. Since then it has developed extensively and has built up a reputaion. Altough the museum building is quite small, visitors are always surprised at the amount of exhibits and information on show. The museum has well designed dislplays about army volunteers, education, friendly societies, communications, boats, public health, housing. entertainment, the geology of the area, and of course, the slate industry. The whole island is of historical interest and any questions which arise whilst walking around will be gladly answered by the friendly and knowledgeable staff. There is a free quiz to keep the children happy, and for visitors wishing to study genealogy, staff will help as much as possible.
Who I'd like to meet: We are open from April to October between 11am - 4pm. The hours in july -August will be 10.30pm - 5pm. For more information message us here.

Good to hear from you...we had an absolute blast! I'd love to come back! And I'm sure the guys would too...would be good to try an 'old-skool' acoustic trio line up of Radiotones (myself + big Adrian on bass and our harmonica player who couldn't make it last time).
