In 1999 Joshua James and good friend Gilbert Rodriguez came up with Easedrop in Tempe, Arizona while hanging out in the school library. A year or so went by until James finally got a group together under the name Easedrop. The bands first lineup consisted of Chris "The Duke" Windsor on bass, Justin Ricketts on drums, and Joshua James on axe/vocals. Easedrop enjoyed some success when they put out their first three song EP which included "The Mosh Song", "I Want More", and "Never". They played in clubs like The Nile, Lucky Dragon, and Buddha Lounge. About two years later Brad Golding joined on guitar and Ricketts was replaced by Rodriguez on drums. Easedrop then released another EP; this time with five songs including the local hit, "The Mosh Song". Easedrop was soon playing in clubs such as Mason Jar, Big Fish Pub, and Freedom Club. After a historic battle of the bands competition that ended in a riot at the Mason Jar(if you were there then you know what I'm talking about), Joshua James said goodbye to Arizona and took 'Easedrop' with him to San Francisco in late 2002.
After a couple of years rebuilding, Easedrop is back and rockin' out in the city by the bay. With a new lineup and great new songs Easedrop is headlining clubs such as Slim's, The Rockit Room, Kimo's, Red Devil Lounge, and the Grant & Green. But there is still much more history to be made. Have you heard...
