The "Sentimental Vanity" CD is out and you can get it at .. Also from from jamrecordings.com, garagedor.com, gojohnnygo.com. Here's what reveille.com has to say: "There aren't a lot of artists out there as wantonly eclectic as Terry Eason who also boast such a sharp ear for pop and melody... He's a seasoned pro who's managed never to lose his fascination with how pop gets made, and Sentimental Vanity is more evidence that he's one of the Twin Cities music scene's unheralded gems." Steve McPherson ============================================================================================
Here's stuff other people said at other times: "He's been called the one-man Elephant Six Collective of Minneapolis, an understated sound-tinkerer and our scene's most modest indie-prog guitar hero." --City Pages. ================================================
Some bands I've played in that you may never have heard of were called North Equator Nine, the Form, Babylon Pink, Spades, Ultrasonics, New Primitives, Barking Ocelots and others. In the 1990s I did a lot of other performing and recording with other bands (Dylan Hicks, Rhea Valentine, etc., even was nominated for MMA's Electric Guitarist of the Year -- what a great time). Also been doing the "home recording" thing forever too, well before it was called "lo-fi". For the new millineum I've continued doing sideman work (w/Suburbs, Chan Poling etc.) recording/producing, releasing records and confounding critics. Though it certainly could be categorized as "pop", the music sometimes defies easy description. Rift Magazine referred to one my albums as "Songs of pure pop genius", but I also like to do weird improvisational guitar and aural soundscapes (is aural soundscapes redundant?). Here's how the Bees Knees 'zine summed it: "He could make a record in almost any style and it would be all gold... This guy can do it all!" Check out terryeason.com for full discography and lots more reviews. blah bla blah and um. Meow...

Powerpopaholic says "...so full of sugar I got cavities just listening to it" Absolute Powerpop says "...as soon as you hear the chorus of "All I Need", you know you're in for a ride full of pop goodness"
If you're around on Thursday, December 10th, we are playing a show at Mario's Keller Bar. I don't know if you've been there, but it's a very cool place. It's a comfortable space, the room sounds great and they have a stellar beer selection.
Also, we will be playing ALL NIGHT! We'll play some funky, bluesy, and soulful music. We'll project live video onto a 9 ft screen. We'll play some older material that hasn't been heard in awhile, as well as some brand new songs that've never been heard. All bets are off!! We'd love it if you'd come down and listen/party with us!

I just wanted to stop by and wish you a happy Sunday! I hope that the weekend brought you fun adventures, relaxation, and contentment :)
I was going to go camping this weekend, but this is definitely NOT camping weather. So me and some friends went to check out Dueling Pianos. Those guys are amazing - they can play just about any song that's been on the radio between 1950 and 2005.
Anyways, I wanted to let you know about a show we have @ Station 4 on Friday, October 16th. We are debuting a series of one time only performance art pieces. This one is called "AN OBJECT TO CRAVE". Live music and visuals based on a short story about life, love, loss, fantasy, obsession and death.
Another group of mine, The Magnetrons, which plays an exciting and innovative Livetronica set (i.e. STS9, Disco Biscuits, The Histronic) will also be playing. The night will be full of creative, interesting, high-energy music, good drinks and good times.
Here's the info:
Blood Root Mother - "An Object to Crave" w/ The Magnetrons & Thought Thieves Friday, October 16th Station 4 201 E 4th St St Paul, MN 55101 9pm / $5 / 18+
I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time a few days ago. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a video of a new tune called Run Bobby Run:
Hey! We're opening for the Meat Puppets in La Crosse on July 10th. Click on the link below if you want to purchase tickets. All ages, everyone is welcome. Thanks!
A brutal night of original music, and a chance for fans to lay down their support for live broadcasting of independents in the twin cities. Tonight, March 2. Kitty Cat. It won't be the same party without you. Hockey gear optional.
Thanks for accepting my friend request :) I've been wondering what all of the Nautilus folks have been up to lately. It seems like we all got a little overwhelmed, went back to our normal lives, and are starting to reconnect again (at least, that's how it's been on my end :)).
