GeneralNOTE: The reason we are on myspace is that, we are able to reach out to people from all over the world in one shot and through this the world will know what's going on.

Our main aim is to get many artists involved on this project and get them to talk to their fans about this issue and hopefully organize concerts in their cities to spread the word and raise funds for this project. In return we will advertise the concerts on our website

APPEAL FOR FAMINE RELIEF ASSISTANCE

Following the prolonged drought in 2006 which prevailed in many parts of Kenya as a result of unfavorable weather conditions, We started this Project. A lot still remains the same in 2008,due to lack of proper policy from all concerned quarters and political instability.:

The USAID-funded Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS Net) warned that the political crisis was likely to cause severe food insecurity in both rural and urban areas. In the short-term the country is in urgent need of monetary assistance to purchase relief food and other non-food items such as water and sanitation, and to support agriculture and health services in the affected areas.

According to Augusta Abate, UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) assistant representative for Kenya, 75 percent of the estimated 300,000 people displaced from the Rift Valley have become destitute.

+Whatever your cross+
whatever your pain,
There will always be sunshine after the rain.
Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall,
But God is always ready to answer your call.
He knows every heartache, sees every tear,
A word from His lips can calm every fear.
Your sorrows may linger throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish at dawn's early light.
The Savior is waiting somewhere above,
To give you His grace and send you His love.
Whatever your cross, whatever your pain,
God always sends rainbows after the rain.

For children, this means a drastic change in their lives as families struggle to find food and other essential supplies. Some of these children are returning to school with nothing.

Lutheran Hour Ministries invites you to help ease their pain through the Global Care Packages (GCP) program. Through GCP you can pack and send drawstring bags filled with school supplies, toys, and messages of hope. Help us share the love of Jesus with the children in Kenya by packing a box of items today.

For more information about the GCP program and how to take part in this campaign for Kenya, visit www.lhm.org/globalcare or contact Jeanne Lawrence by telephone at (800) 752-9636, ext. 4168 or e-mail at jeanne.lawrence@lhm.org.

St. Louis, MO, Mar. 7, 2008 - As the new year dawned, people around the world looked toward a future filled with hope and promise. For much of Kenya, this hope vanished quickly as an unexpected wave of violence spilled into their lives.

Over the weeks that followed, life in Kenya became extremely dangerous - especially if you belonged to certain ethnic tribes that were locked in a political dispute. These people were either targeted by armed mobs or caught in the crossfire between protestors and police.

In some parts of Kenya, churches and homes were burned down and families forced to flee for their lives. The result has been hundreds of thousands of people left only with what few belongings they were able to take with them.

Friendship is a PRICELESS GIFT
that cannot be bought or sold,
but it's value is far greater
than a mountain made of GOLD!
For gold is cold and lifeless,
it can neither see nor hear
AND in the time of trouble
it is powerless to cheer-
it has no ears to listen,
Nor can it hear, to understand,
it cannot bring you comfort
or reach out a helping hand
So when you ask
GOD FOR A GIFT
Be thankful if HE sends
NOT DIAMONDS, PEARLS OR RICHES
BUT THE LOVE OF REAL TRUE FRIENDS.
