Individual Artist grants are for artists in the region wanting to expand their artistry. The Fellowship Program is designed to recognize, reward, and encourage outstanding professional artists. ****************
ECAC ART SCHOLARSHIPS for K-12 Students--
The ECAC found that the region is flourishing with young, talented, and energetic artists deserving recognition. As a result, the ECAC, with funding through the McKnight Foundation, decided to offer these young artists a scholarship opportunity to assist their promising futures as artists. The kids experience a wide range of art activities with ECAC assistance including jazz camp, show choir camp, dance camp, theatre festivals, and visual art residencies. Note - these are NOT scholarships for college students. ****************
IMAGE Art Show--
In November of 2006 the East Central Arts Council hosted the 20th annual IMAGE Art Show at the East Central Regional Development Commission (ECRDC) in Mora, MN. Over 100 artists entered the show. Each year the IMAGE Art Show and the cash awards honor some of the finest art and artists in the region. Generally ECAC provides a grant to an art organization to host the show. To get on the mailing list for the IMAGE Art Show as an artist or if your organization wants to host IMAGE e-mail ecac@ecrdc.org with your request. ****************
www.mnartists.org --
The McKnight Foundation developed mnartists.org as a result of its 1999 "Cost of Culture" survey of Minnesota artists, the results of which revealed the economic survival struggles of individual artists. The McKnight Foundation partnered with the Walker Art Center's New Media Initiatives group to develop mnartists.org, an .. database of Minnesota artists from all disciplines. Each artist is provided with their own webpage of images and information. Also mnartists.org present s news and features about the local arts scene from a variety of sources. It is becoming a marketplace and community hub. The East Central Arts Council assists regional artists in accessing this opportunity by providing technical assistance, scanning artwork, and uploading images onto the website. ****************
Funding for these artist programs is provided by
The McKnight Foundation. ************************************************
