About me:

Myspace Glowing text I am Raj Patel founder and co-owner of EasternMpire Promotions. EasternMpire Promotions is an Event Mangement Company based here in Sacramento, CA. I am originally from London, England where I was a DJ and Promoter in the late eighties to early nineties until my transition here to the states in 1993. At that time the salary for the DJing industry was not like it is now. In order to survive and be able to support myself here, I set aside my equipment and love of music and found a job, thus joining the rest of the working class in american society. After ten years of mind numbing labor, brain washed ideas of what my future should be like, hard work and dedication to people who do not appreciate it, I realized that I was not happy. Where is my American dream? While out scouting to see what Sacramento could offer I was shocked to find that although this is THE state capital of California, people were having to travel great distances in order to party and/or for a night of fun. The night life here in Sacramento was sorely lacking. The idea of getting back into this business took root and here I am today. I wanted to bring back the good old days but ten times better seeing as how this is a new era. Hence the birth of EasternMpire Promotions. This was a one-man company and was purely based on bringing out the South Asian Community and/or anyone who appreciated and enjoyed Bollywood, Hindi, Bhangra etc... After three years into this business, I picked up a business partner (Shawn Ram) and a couple of promoters to help out here and there. Somewhere along the way though, the ideology of why I started EasternMpire began to fade. EasternMpire will always be faithful to Bollywood sounds, but EasternMpire has expanded its music to include Hip Hop, Top 40s, Trance/Electronic and any club music there is out there, for any and all people and not just the South Asian Community. Thanks to all its supporters, EasternMpire has grown tremendously in the last couple of years. EasternMpire will continue to try its best to bring the best parties and events to its supporters for many years to come.
