Here is a tidbit of history:
The Eastown Community Association was founded and funded for the first three years of its existence (in the 70's) by a grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, obtained by Aquinas College. Aquinas professors Tom Edison, Linda Easley and Michael Williams, and Sr. James Rau produced "Eastown!," a nationally distributed book which is a case-study of how a not-for-profit institution like Aquinas can preserve the neighborhood in which it is situated.
This is an awesome resource for anyone who would like to know more about the History of AQ, Eastown! and Community Development!
It is out of print but the ECA still has some copies that they may be willing to loan to a responsible citizen like yourself. |
