KURT MELLE has been involved with music since he was a wee lad, playing baritone, trombone, and tuba in Junior High and High school. He was self-taught on guitar and decided to learn bass guitar and upright bass while attending South Plains College in Levelland Texas, earning a degree in Commercial Music with an emphasis in Country and Bluegrass. Kurt played upright bass for Lanny Fiel’s Ranch Dance Fiddle Band for thirteen years. That band was listed as number 28 of the top 40 things to do while in Texas by Southern Living Magazine and was featured on the touring roster for The Texas Commission on the Arts. The RDFB was also featured in showcases, seminars, and workshops at the statewide TMEA conventions in San Antonio and at the National Cowboy Symposium in Elko, Nevada. Kurt has played locally with numerous groups including Plainview Symphony Orchestra, Kris Kringle Trio, Klifnotes, Dr. Mag and the Wheels, Eileen Aiken Band, Midnight on the Water, TripleShot, and is currently playing with Westwinds Brass Band, Ad Hoc Jazz Ensemble, Kody and the Caprock Crew, and Easy Does It. Kurt currently works as a food broker to subsidize his music habit and is a Certified Executive Chef with the American Culinary Federation.
LORI SEALY has been a piano whiz since she was able to reach the keys. As a child and through college, Lori excelled in her craft, winning numerous perfect Guild awards, scholarships, and honors. She attended Hardin-Simmons University, graduating in 1987 with degrees in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, and Music Education. Lori has performed in musicals in Texas, Louisiana, Missouri, Colorado, Minnesota, California, and Mexico. She has been a pianist at churches all across Texas- Snyder, Big Spring, Abilene, Ira, Austin, Leander, Slaton, and currently plays for Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lubbock. Lori has tickled the ivories in many local bands: Dr. Mag & the Wheels, Lubbock Concert Band, Midnight on the Water, TripleShot, Just a Couple O’Gals, and currently plays with Easy Does It, Ad Hoc Jazz Ensemble, Kody and the Caprock Crew, and Westwinds Brass Band. After a very successful 20 year teaching career in music and early childhood, Lori has recently taken time off to focus on her one true love: gigging. She currently works for Lowery Plumbing/Heating & Air, and enjoys spending time with her dog, Red Baron.
EASY DOES IT came together as a natural progression of two musicians deciding to "take their show on the road", so to speak. Kurt played in a duo situation before and was looking for a fresh sound but with the ease and convenience of a duo package. Lori is a great singer and has been a pianist for churches and small restaurants all her life. The ranges of the two voices were a good fit and the instrumentation was ideal. In a very short time, we have worked up an impressive list of songs--old and new, classical and popular. We pride ourselves in choosing songs outside the box...not the usual bar-type songs you can hear anywhere, and we put our EDI twist on each song we perform. Easy Does It offers a show with diverse instrumentation, thoughtful arrangements, and great energy onstage.
EDI has a bunch of great folks who sit in with us from time to time: Billy McClaran, Kody Kothmann, Brent Smith, Daron Brown & Family, Brian Maines, Robert Owens. You just never know who'll be sitting in with us at a gig!

FACEBOOK Urban Monroes Thanks a lot. Hope to see ya there!
Thank you so much for being friends with us and for your really kind words. I wanted to listen to your songs but it looks like you are right in the middle of adding music to your player. The player is there but it's empty. I'll check back again.
Have a wonderful day. We look forward to listening to you all.
2 hour set turned into 6 hour jam with several different musicians that showed up. We pulled it off old school blues style calling out the keys and going with the flow. It was a blast!
Thank you, Ms Sealy, for schooling! It was a very long drive and I had only had a very few hours to sleep between the club and the drive. SO THERE! Love you.
Hey Lori thanks for the add. I will definately dig your music. I took fiddle lessons from Valerie Green a few years ago. I like to be musically diverse.
