About me: Thanks for checking out Easy Plateau Productions!
My name is Kris, and I've been doing all this fun schtuff for about a decade now, give or take on either side depending. After owning and engineering at the now defunct Nashua Sound in Putnam Valley, NY, I have relocated back to the NYC Metro area to bring together all three of my services - Recording, Booking, and Private Instruction. Here are the details:
Recording:
I am available to track, mix, and master your record! I work out of a brand new space on Staten Island, as well as an overdub/mixing spot in Westchester. To the left, you'll find a player with song samples, all of which I either engineered, produced, mixed, or mastered, or some combination. I mix primarily with Waves plugins, and my favorite mics are my CharterOak SA538's and my Beyerdynamic M160. If you wanna dork out on gear, we can get more specific. Just shoot me a message.
Booking:
Would you rather skip the headache of the 6 thousand emails and phone calls required to book a tour? I'm your glutton for punishment! I'll do anything from a 3-day jaunt to a full blown month-plus excursion. I can even plan your route for you, if you'd like. The only thing I require is the tour to be approximately three (3) months away to give us ample time for those trouble cities. Included in the client list below are some artists that I've booked tours for.
Private Instruction:
I am available to teach Guitar, Bass, and Pro Tools engineering/producing private lessons in your home! I can pretty much make it anywhere in Westchester County (and you too, Greenwich!). I have taught students ranging from ages 5 to 65 with a method focusing on what the student actually wants to learn, still managing to sneak in some reading and theory. Most importantly, students always have a blast.
Please message me here, or send me an email at easyplateau@gmail.com to discuss your project and price out a quote. No matter what your needs, I am most always able to work something out.
Who I'd like to meet: Testimonials:
"The entire process was a pleasure. Sound engineer Kris Hayes was a positive force that fueled the project both sonically and emotionally. I have every intention to use Kris again… and again and again and again!!!!” Matt Krahula (Nightmare River Band)
“Kris produces some great results. A Studio Production graduate at SUNY Purchase College and avid engineer before that, his experience in the field of producing and recording is above and beyond. He is able to create a relaxing and productive environment in the studio, and as a result, his clients’ products benefit.” Greg Baldwin (Greg Baldwin & The Aesthetics)
"This was tracked really well!" Bill Moriarty (American Diamond/Dr. Dog Studios)
“Kris Hayes was a pleasure to work with. Besides being knowledgeable and efficient when it comes to mic placement, tracking, gear, and running a session, he has something more important which is a good ear—a musician’s understanding of music. Kris understood what I needed in terms of overall sound, tracking, mixing, editing, and mastering for a multi-instrument project that came from multiple sources—he helped me put it all together into a polished final product. And of course, his positive, friendly demeanor is a big plus—I’m looking forward to working with Kris again.” Adam Tully (guitarist, arranger, producer)
“Kris has an uncanny ear for tone and balance. He has well-founded technique and a wealth of tricks up his sleeve. We couldn’t be happier with the sound and mix he gave us.” Adam Soffer (Off The Bridge)
"We hired Kris to master our first record. This was our first time working with Kris, and he was willing to put in as much work as was necessary to get the job done right. After a couple of proofs of back and forth, we ended up with exactly what we were looking for. The quality was great, but more importantly Kris' dedication to making sure we were 100% happy with the product is what will make us use him again in the future." Will & Tom (Magnified)
It died, school started, and Ive had no time for music. But if I ever do get something finished, I would definitely like to go to you for mastering, you've been really cool about everything

My projects at a bit of a stand still right now though, I want someone too work with (preferably someone who can sing) its all getting kinda stale on my own.
But most everyone in my area at my age, is into hard core, its annoying.
Ohkay, that should be sick, i will definitely buy your stuff :D
I shall keeo you posted, and I was wondering, how much you charge for just mastering, because that might be all im able to pay for...(did not find a job x_x)
So do you regret going to college for music (In the studio)? Because I talked to some people that said it was terrible, but Purchase looks different, maybe...
One more question for ya. By any chance would you be interested in hosting an Indie on the Move banner on your myspace page or website to help us promote?
