Eat It Raw is a rock band from Bethesda, Maryland that fuses elements of various genres of music to create a uniquely raw musical experience. Formed in the summer of 2004 by Juan Sanchez, Curtis Dorsey, Jaime Ibacache, and Charles Walsh, Eat It Raw began writing original material and developing their sound while most of its members were still in school. Longtime friend and musical collaborator Wes Lanich joined the band in early 2005 as Eat It Raw's keyboard player. Since then, Eat It Raw has been writing and performing in the Washington, D.C. area, delighting local headbangers and ass-shakers alike.
Eat It Raw delivers an energetic concert experience that leaves audiences feeling "well-done." A unique musical adventure, Eat It Raw's live performance takes the audience on a rollercoaster ride of unpredictable turns, gut-wrenching drops, and smooth climbs back to the top.
Eat It Raw is currently busy writing new material, recording an EP, and performing throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Future plans include an extensive east coast tour and our first album. Be sure to check out one of our upcoming shows and find out what it really means to Eat It Raw!
The finals of the National Poetry Contest last year came down to two finalists. One was a Duke University Law School graduate from an uppercrust family -- well-bred, well-connected, and all that goes with it. The other finalist was a redneck from Southeast Alabama. The rules of the contest required each finalist to compose a four-line poem in one minute or less, and the poem had to contain the word Timbuktu".
The Duke graduate went first. About thirty seconds after the clock started he jumped up and recited the following poem:
Slowly across the desert sand Trekked the dusty caravan. Men on camels, two by two Destination -Timbuktu.
The audience went wild!!!
How, they wondered, could the redneck top that?! The clock started again and the redneck sat in silent thought. Finally, in the last few seconds, he jumped up and yelled:
Tim and me, a-huntin' went. Met three whores in a pop-up tent. They was three, we was two, So I bucked one and Timbuktu.
kick ass, your music makes me want to eat the skin off of someone's face, and then puke it up and wear it as my own face, so keep rocking;] Hope to roll with you on some concerts!
Thank you so much for accepting our friendship. That means alot to us. Maybe we'll see you at an upcoming show. Hope you have a tremendous week!!! Your friends, Angel Row
