E'BABY'S BIO:Born Ebony DePriest artist name E’Baby and raised in Winter Haven Florida. This is not your ordinary girl. Ebony always was a competitor, willing to take on any competition that came her way. She was criticized and picked at during her childhood for always playing with the boys. E’Baby felt that hanging with the boys made her tougher and never liked to be called a tom boy. E’Baby preferred to be called a girl gifted with skills. Hanging with the boys, E’Baby picked up talent of track, basketball as well as raping. After hearing the Brat “Funkdafied”, E’Baby knew music was what she wanted to pursue. At the age of twelve E’Baby begins writing music and raping it in the classrooms and PE. When she turned fifteen, her mom brought her her first mic and software (hip hop ejay). E’Baby use to write, produce and record so much that she couldn’t tell you if it was night or day outside because she stayed in her room with her music.
As years went by, E’Baby had her ups and downs with music because she was still running track and playing basketball. E’Baby teamed up with her cousin and two other girls to form an all female group that included raping, singing and dancing. Together they performed around the state of Florida for a year with there manager Leo before the group broke up and went there separate ways with there music but remained a team on the basketball court. That’s when E’Baby decided to continue her career as a solo artist and start recording on her own again. She met up with local producer JaCarter and made professional sound music every since. E’Baby had to get use to both recording and performing on her own which wasn’t much of a challenge to her since she loved the stage any way. The only problem was, basketball was still in her way and shows begin to not come around.
E’Baby tore her ACL, MCL & Cartages all at one time during a summer game at UCF the summer before her senior year in high school on June 13th, Friday 13th and she wore jersey number 13. Wow! That was creapy, lol. This had E’Baby mind raceing now because she was a tremendous athlete in track & field. She was in the top 3 for the 200 and was a very strong runner in the 4x1 and 4x2. She helped her team go to the state finals every year. E’Baby also won the discus throw every year holding two discus titles in districts and regional’s. E’Baby had offers from Cornell University (Ivy League), FSU and USF but she didn’t hear from them anymore after her injuries. Basketball was different E’Baby had no offers her senior year from big schools because she was on the bench recovering from her knee injury. Right when she thought it was over, she received a full scholarship at a junior college to play basketball there. E’Baby attended St. Petersburg College and received Academic All-Honors her freshman season with a 3.6 gpa and Help her team make it to the finals her sophomore year. E’Baby also continued to push her music the best she could while in school eventhough she couldn’t do the shows because she was always on the road with basketball.
During E’Baby sophomore year in college, there where some personal issues back home with her family that was affecting her focus. E’Baby wasn’t as focus in the class rooms after the season was over and had quick tempers that pushed some of her friends away. After the school year, E’Baby could have continued her two eligible years off to another college but decided to go back home and just take online courses to take care home. See, E’Baby was the man of the house since her father left out on them and her older brother was in prison. E’Baby got a job to help take care home and got back on her music. E’Baby got back in the studios and had a few shows hear and there. She also had offers from some big time managers including Pretty Ricky’s uncle to help push her music. E’Baby got on two of the biggest female mixtapes of the year. Out of Boton Rough Louisiana a DJ by the name of DJ WHO, put E’Baby on “Girls in the Hood VOL. 1 and VOL.2”. E’Baby single on volume one was introduced by Chi Town Rapper Shawnna. Things where getting good for E’Baby. But, only for a little while then it was over. Even though E’Baby went home she couldn’t focus with the drama that was surrounding her. She saved money and moved to Tampa Florida with her best friend/roommate.
Now being on her own and away from the drama, E’Baby still had issues with the fact that her brother was still in prison. She often wondered was it a mistake quitting basketball to go home and help her family. But, then she think about what if she wasn’t there for her family the situations would have been worse so she don’t regret quitting basketball. E’Baby worked hard everyday to provide for her brother because she didn’t wont him to won’t or owe anyone while he was in there. She continued to work and send him money as well as push her music. Back to the basics E’Baby started producing again. E’Baby is now her own producer and promoter. Even though she still works with other producers when she can afford it, she now makes beats on her own. She also is taking up graphics in school which has helped her to promote herself with her own creativity. E’Baby wants to be her brother’s keeper like Plies and Big Gates. Plies was in the shoes that E’Baby is in now and soon she will make her brother proud like Plies did, Very soon. When E’Baby is into her music, every minute she gives her all, every second she gives her best and every hour she believes every step in her dreams is worth it.
