I started out as an avid Reiner (before reining was cool). Then because I couldn't see going to a show for one class, started showing in all the championship classes. After going to a hunter pace, I joined the local Fox Hunting club, getting my colors and becoming the Treasurer for several years. My horse and I learned to jump in the hunt field with sliding plates on (it helps when you are ignorant, yes?). My friend in Virginia called me up and told me about a new horse game that she found and suggested that I come down and play. It was Eventing. I prepared with one jump lesson and one dressage lesson. Boy, it was a hoot! We even WON!!!!!! Well, we had to join the Combined training assoc. Well, all this got boring so we started Trail Riding and Wagon Training. We still do this today. As a mater of fact, that is how I met my husband, at a trail ride in Missouri. Now at 26, my wonder horse has gotten his drivers license and is still going all out. The two of us have turned out to be real well rounded in the horse world!!
About me: After we retired to Georgia on 52 acres of prime pasture land, only 3 miles from I-75, and remembering the problems that arose from vehicle brake down, scarce safe overnight staying, animal health problems, ect... my husband and I decided to open our stable and home to travelers. Our barn has 8 stalls inside, with one outside stall with a 1/4 acre turn out attached. There is also one 1/2 acre and a 1 1/2 acre turn out behind the barn with a 50 foot round pen. The barn has a hot and cold running water wash stall.....................Also, in the house we have two spare rooms with queen beds and a room with a day bed trundle combo (great for the kids). I remember while traveling with my horses, that I wished to stay really close to them, especially in strange places................... We had a lot of problems when we moved here getting our 28 foot trailer into the drive, soooo, we put in a big enough drive for tractor trailers, just in case. With 52 acres there is loads of room for any amount of trailers and campers. There is two electric hook ups for the campers. If you are in need of a safe comfortable stop for you or your horse for a night, just give us a call or email and you will be more than welcome.....................If you would rather stay at a motel, they are only 3 miles away at the interstate exit. ............
Who I'd like to meet: People who are into our equine friends. Who like to ride, drive, or just look at.
