Band Members

Chopper: A virtuoso keyboard player and John Bonham type drummer. A fearsome live performer who compliments the full on experience of the Ebony Tower live, as well as bringing a world class touch in the recording studio

Rebecca Everitt: A star in her own right, having performed her solo set supporting Bob Dylan, Counting Crows and many others. She has performed in UK, Ireland and at a number of US festivals and European venues.

Spencer Cozens : Classed as the musicians musician when it comes to keyboards. Spencer has worked with such notable performers as Joan Armatrading, Julia Fordham and the late great John Martyn, his keyboard wizardry helping to fill out the already mighty sound of Ebony Tower.

Skye Sheridan: Classically trained, who adds counterpoint to the heavier elements of the band. She has developed a technique in live shows by using a violin through a Mesa Boogie stack allowing her to compete with the rest of the band in loudness.

Wilson McQueen: Writing producing and performing music since he was 12, he is known as a power player, blowing audiences away wherever he plays. He has been asked to “turn it down” by house engineers even before playing on the grounds he looked too loud.

Chris Hanby: Touring the world with top ten acts and sessions for the great and the good have only helped him to play his best with the Ebony Tower.

Billy Fuller: Bass player and first choice for Robert Plant and other world class outfits.

   About Ebony Tower

This is the message from the vanguard of the new prog movement, it's time to stand up and be counted. Wilson McQueen starts the ignition sequence with the stunning debut EP from Ebony Tower.

The Ebony Tower 2009 line-up is:

-Wilson McQueen - guitars
-Ian (Chopper) Cotterill - drums, keyboards
-Spencer Cozens - keyboards
-Rebecca Everitt - vocals
-Skye Sheridan - violin
-Chris Hanby - bass

Gigs The forthcoming EP will be promoted heavily in magazines such as Classic Rock, Classic Rock Prog ( including a the track on their cover mount CD), Word, MOJO, Metal Hammer and Powerplay, in support of soon to be announced live shows.

Mixing classic rock strut and swagger with a healthy dose of gothic prog, Ebony Tower’s battery of sound meshed with dark and light themes teases and stimulates. Wilson McQueen’s dynamic guitar sound and the band’s classical, literary and hard rock influences all make Ebony Tower and the EP DEAD PLANETS NEW STARS a force to be reckoned with in 21st century contemporary rock that will appeal to fans of the genre both in the UK, the rest of Europe and Scandinavia.

Ebony Tower was formed in 1996 to perform and record music written and composed by McQueen, a songwriter and composer as much influenced by the literary works of both Shelley and Lewis Carroll as by the music of Led Zeppelin.

Album

DEAD PLANETS NEW STARS is the stunning debut release from classic/ prog rock ensemble Ebony Tower. The brainchild of guitarist and songwriter Wilson McQueen, the EP features classically trained violinist Skye (Sheridan), the powerhouse vocal of Rebecca Everitt, drummer and synthesiser maestro ‘Chopper’ and Chris Hanby an acknowledged bass guitar tutor who previously gained chart success with the band Mattafix. Also featured on the EP is Billy Fuller, a member of Strange Sensation, the band formed and fronted by the legendary Robert Plant.

nice one for the compliment. the tracks on our site are pretty old though. recorded over a year ago when we'd been going for only 2 months... we'll put out another record when we get our act together.

i like your songs. excellent guitar playing! very thin lizzy, metallica, maiden sort of thing going on with the riffs. i like it.
