Sounds Like
Opening track 'Where Are You Now' is steely and linear with chiming guitars and a downbeat feel that never sinks into self-absorbed whimsy. The piano-led 'Survive' is a chilly, questing paean to the power of love in the face of global catastrophe which is about twenty times better than that might sound. Together with the elegantly understated 'Seeds', the song shows off the band's strengths, in particular Jonny's voice - delicately powerful, calmly emotive – although both sound like they've sneaked out the back of 'The Bends'. The crystalline pop of 'Where Are You Now', the lead track of Echo Boomer's debut album, reminds me of the late lamented Gene. Everything from vocals to the music sounds so precise, yet still full of emotion, a difficult trick to pull off indeed….'Survive' is excellent stuff and the potential to be the big hit. It's as if the band are adrift at sea, but as everything's perfectly calm, they're blissfully happy to be there. Jonny's vocals ride the surface safe in the knowledge everything will be fine. DEMO OF THE MONTH
All in all, an absolutely stunning demo and certainly worth checking out. It is, so far,
the only demo Ive reviewed that I've gone out of my way to put onto my itunes.
Thats saying something. The fact that Ive also said nothing but positive things is
also saying something let alone being a rarity. Never in a while have I heard a demo in
this style with such controlled brilliance. Call this a brief bout of madness but its
hard to argue when four out of your five personalities love it. OPEN VIEW MAGAZINE

Custom top banner code by Eileen!!! End Code To Apply Top Banner !!!We are a band from Oxford, writing and rehearsing original songs in a barn in the countryside late at night. We love rhythm and melody, and interesting sounds. We've been known to use everything from the ukulele to the synth bass, but it's always the song that comes first. We all come from different musical backgrounds but grew up loving Bowie, The Beatles, REM and Kate Bush but are always swapping CDs of new bands that get us excited. We've done some high-profile gigs, supporting The Guillemots at a sold-out Brixton Academy and with The Temper Trap and The Metros at the Oxford O2. We also reached the final of the Next Big Thing unsigned band competition earlier this year. We'd love you to dowload our songs, send them to your mates....Get in touch if you want to get involved....
