With eerie guitar drones, textural synths along with moody bass and thunderous drums in a unique combination, Echoes and Shadows is influenced by "Sturm und Drang": an emotional style of composition in the late 18th century characterized by the use of minor keys. Literally, "Storm and Stress".
Formed in late 2006, Echoes and Shadows is the power-trio that emerged from the ruination of the members' previous band, Still Life Decay. After four years, which yielded three albums (2002 The Drown, 2004 Storm & Stress and 2006 Parasitic- all of which feature founding member Edu Mussi as a songwriter), along with two national tours, and many opening slots for bands such as Fear Factory, Dir en Grey, and more, the three instrumentalists felt as though it had taken them as far as it could.
From the ashes arose Echoes and Shadows. Members: Edu Mussi (guitar, synths, overdubs), Alex Terhune (bass), and Bones (drums, percussion) progressed to this instrumental venture without ever looking back, playing their first New York appearances with their long time heroes/British legends, New Model Army (December 2006). Guest musicians will also be featured from time to time for upcoming live performances.
Also, be sure to check out Ascension of the Watchers featuring Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory) John Bechdel (False Icons, Ministry) and Edu Mussi. New album coming in february 2008 released by 13th Planet Records.
