Echo's back in the studio working on his new CD, Ancestors and Spirits!.
"There I will go to the alter of God, my exceeding joy and praise him with my harp."
Echo's genre is Fingerstyle Guitar, and he is one of its masters. Echo Greywolf's talents are as rare as the harp guitar itself, for few play an instrument that melds a six-string harp with a six-string guitar to create an amazing twelve-string wonder. Gibson once produced them in the 1920s, but now this intriguing hybrid must be custom-made. As if that were not enough, Echo has recently commissioned an entire string section in one instrument: It is a lyre-harp guitar. This astounding 24-string work of art integrates a lyre, a harp and a guitar -- into one! It raises the musical bar to a height that only pole vaulters can go.
Imagine an instrumental dreamscape that transports you upon soaring, glittering arpeggios or that draws one into introspection with somber yet tasty textures. A master craftsman melodist as well as a virtuoso player, Echo's original tunes are trinkets that are to the ear what honey is to the tongue.
On my album "Acoustic Tales" a yearning sweetness pours from my original composition, "Stained Glass Window." "Pirate's Dance" is a jaunty ditty whose lilting passages actually suggest the regal pluck of a harsichord. Very cool, indeed.
A virtual protege of venerable Alex Degrassi, Echo Greywolf's performance resonates with a musical worldliness honed and burnished from diverse influences. Celtic, ragtime, classical, blues -- among others -- help sculpt distinct emotional and visual portraits, from whimsical to melancholy to euphoric to romantic.
Accolade follows wherever this Navajo Californian goes:
An instrumental poet... whose musical style of storytelling will capture the listener. I realized that I was sitting with a very special man.

Magical, mystical, and majestic: This is the aural tapestry that Echo Greywolf weaves.
