Echo Park Book Club — инфо |
О себе:
We are the Echo Park Book Club, and we gather on Thursdays at 8pm. We like to decide the location week to week, but we've been known to frequent both Barragan's on Sunset in Echo Park and Downbeat Cafe on Alvarado. Don't be frightened to come alone or with friends, as we are accepting individuals and would be thrilled to meet anyone, including you; we will welcome you with open arms. Our goal is to motivate our friends and community to become more literary minded, providing each other with another social option outside of the tired, worn bar/music scene, and offer a comfortable, welcoming enviroment for the exchange of ideas and criticism amongst all our participants. We are open to any suggestions you might have for future reading and discussion so feel free to give us feedback or advice.

This week we are restarting the book club. Yeah, you know it bitches!
Months have ticked away and our minds have withered for the worse. This week we will be discussing "God is Not Great" by Christopher Hitchens. I'm privately hoping God shows up to offer a compelling rebuttal, but as we all know, the Lord works in mysterious ways; showing up at Barragan's, eating tacos and chatting, just ain't the big fella's style....
Grab it, read it, and cruise by Barragan's! Let's get erudite, bitches.
You'll see a syllabus of upcoming selections below as soon as we get our collective act together and plan out a more lengthy roster of future reads. Also, feel free to message us with your own suggestions. Pop-up books and pornography will be considered, but are less likely to be selected than books with words. We would also prefer to schedule books that are inexpensive (yet infinitely rich in content!) and easily accessible to everyone, please keep that in mind.
