Interests

  • General

    I have been endowed with an intellect bent toward math and science, and it has been developed into a facility with computers over the past 25 years or so. Other than that, I love the outdoors, climbing trees, kayaking, biking through the woods, etc, even though I don't see the outdoors much (except on Webshots®).I love Dilbert...

  • Music

    I have a penchant for rock music, but my tastes vary from classical to country and everywhere in between. I prefer Christian music, and my favorite is Petra (my introduction to Christian music), but I listen to many flavors of music.

  • Movies

    I'm a typical guy. I like action-adventure, science-fiction, some fantasy, and the occasional kids movies (like Spy Kids 3-D).

  • Television

    Again, I don't think I'm far from typical. I like shows such as CSI: (fillintheblank), NCIS, Numb3rs, and anything "Star Trek"... (The only Trekkie stuff I have is a Tribble and a movie poster.) I also like to watch educational stuff on PBS and Animal Planet. I especially like Nova Science Now, and home improvement shows like "This Old House."

  • Books

    I haven't done much reading lately other than on the computer. I do (occasionally) read computer manuals, like "PHP Reference Guide," but I can't say I've actually read a book in a long time. Most of the reading off the computer I do is the Bible (and even some of that is on the computer).

  • Heroes

    I'm disillusioned with people any more. No sooner does it seem that someone is set up as a role model that you hear that they did something reprehensible and are knocked down again. The only one in whom you can trust is God, for He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

About me:

I was born 2 months early and started off life with a set of challenges. Growing up gave me even more. Through the struggles I've had in my life, and the process of overcoming my difficulties, I have learned one thing: No matter how bad things look or get, God is still in control. He is the one to whom you can turn when you're drowning and there's nowhere else to go. He is the answer to every question. My weaknesses have allowed me to share my struggles with others and to be a help to others. I have been a blessing even when I was unaware of it (I heard second-hand). This is how God has used the adversity in my life to His glory.

Who I'd like to meet:

There is nobody on earth important enough for me to really care. "Stars" don't hold my fascination. People with wealth don't hold my envy. People with power disinterest me. The only people I'm interested in are the people around me that I can help because God has put them in my path, and ultimately to meet Jesus Himself (which I will one day).
