Hey everybody.. I just wanted to say that I was so happy when I was invited to this group. Tim's my stepdad, and I was around 10 when I started going to the Cafe.. and it was so much fun.. More than fun though, it helped me become a more well-rounded person. It helped me accept different people, build confidence, and it helped me develop my love for people. I am so grateful that it's lived on. I am living in Indianapolis right now, but I might be moving back to South Bend this summer, and I really wouldn't mind getting a business together that would reflect the memories.

So, who is going to pull it together to create a new cafe? Tim can't do it alone!

Blurbs

About me:

The Eclectic Cafe' was 1st opened by Tim Madlem sometime in '90's and was housed inside part of The 100 Center, which is in Mishawaka, Indiana. (Since I was only there once there is little I can tell you about the 1st Eclectic.) That Cafe' later closed. Tim then opened a new Eclectic on Mishawaka Ave. between Battell Park and Central Park, not far from the previous location. The 2nd Eclectic was actually called "The Eclectic Circle". It was more than just a typical coffee-house, it was a place to showcase local talent and to many area youths it was a 2nd home. The Eclectic was a gathering place to talk or play games with friends and even make new friends. The Eclectic Circle had a mix of; open mic nights, poetry nights and concerts by local artists. The most popular game played was the Midwestern card game called Eucer (with house rules). The most popular menu items were; The Eclectic Moca, Kenya Coffee, Cream Soda, Water, and small snacks. The Eclectic Circle was forced to close when it was bought out by the city of Mishawaka to connect the two parks (mentioned early) with a "River Walk". The River Walk is nice, but it seems they could of left a small space for the Eclectic Circle, since it was just a small place, and don't those "rivers walkers" get thirsty or need to rest there feet in a warm & friendly place? I guess someone didn't think so. The Eclectic Cafe & The Eclectic Circle are both gone, but let this "my space" be a place for those who miss them (either of them!) to re-connect or stay in touch. I hope someday to host an Eclectic Reunion, but that will take time and money. LAYOUT; ..MYPROFILEPIMP.COM..
