Kathy Arnos began her professional writing career in 1988 as publisher and editor of Mother to Mother: Another View, a newsletter focusing on alternative health and environmental issues for the entire family. She started the newsletter as a response to her daughter Danielle’s chronic illness after childhood vaccines, and her journey back to good health through natural healing methods, and becoming a conscious consumer.
In 1991, Arnos published her first book, Bach Flowers for Children (Spirit Dance Publishing), and produced and hosted a 30-minute television show, "Raising Healthy Children Without Drugs," which aired on local cable television. The Los Angeles Times dubbed her, "Medicine Mom" and L.A. Weekly called her the "Good Mother."
Arnos' second book The Complete Teething Guide – From Birth to Adolescence was published in 2003, and offers parents natural remedies for teething-related symptoms such as fevers, diarrhea, nightmares, ADD/ADHD, sleeplessness, depression, headaches, earaches, anxiety, croup, sinus and more.
In 2006 Arnos created and produced the first Whole Children, Whole Planet Expo, a premier natural parenting and family expo that introduces attendees - of all ages - to the benefits of natural products, organics foods, natural medicine, enrichment learning programs, sustainable living practices and important health and environmental issues. The first WCWP Expo was held at the Los Angeles Convention Center over Earth Day weekend. Plans for 2009 will be announced shortly.
Currently, Arnos is the editor of EFN, and produces and hosts EFN Radio, an internet-radio show on I Am Healthy Radio as she continues to write freelance for other (online and in-print) publications. She also sits on the Advisory Board's for California Safe Schools, Holistic Pediatric Association, bluedominoes.com, and the (newly formed) San Fernando Valley Green Leadership Team in Southern California.
"My daughter has definitely been my teacher, opening my eyes to another view. We are all put here for a reason, to walk a certain path. My journey is about my truth – not everyone’s truth will be the same. As parents, it is our job and responsibility to keep our children safe and healthy, which means doing research in order to make informed choices. When Danielle was a baby, I didn’t take time to exercise that right, and that mistake almost cost us our daughter's health. My goal is not to convert other parents into believing my truth, but to give them the tools and knowledge they need to help them make educated decisions about what is right for their family, and children – their truth."

About me: Welcome to Eco Family News (EFN), a free e-newsletter, website and radio show based on the principles of Whole Children, Whole Planet (WCWP), the premier natural parenting and family expo: Creating empowered parents and balanced families in a safe, natural, non-toxic, nurturing environment.
EFN in its three components, offers people a comprehensive resource and overview, introducing them to top quality eco-products, services, companies, sustainable practices, organizations and enrichment learning programs.
We want to address a need in our society for guidance and education for creating more balanced lifestyles and provide people with the tools they need to make informed decisions.
With the popularity of today's "Green" movement comes a barrage of products and services that don't really make the grade - sustainable wannabes that are guilty of “greenwashing,” i.e., making false or misleading green marketing claims. All products and services featured in EFN have been evaluated by a committee of experts, and meet specific criteria - as outlined at www.ecofamilynews.com - there are no paid features in the monthly newsletter. Companies featured in EFN are there because we believe they are authentic in their vision, mission and are truly sustainable.
Eco Family News Radio hosted by Arnos, inspires dialog about important health and environmental issues and provides relevant information for protecting families and the planet. The show airs on the third Wednesday of every month at 11:00 a.m., PST, and is archived and available 24/7 at www.iamhealthyradio.com.
Our mission at EFN is to be a respected, reliable resource for consumers and families around important health and environmental issues, and to be a leading authority on authentic green vs. green-washed products and services.
Eco Family News is designed for informational purposes only, and encourages its reader's and listeners do their own research to make informed educated decisions.
We want to inspire change for our future. We want you to be part of the solution - sign up for EFN and listen to EFN Radio.
