Soul,R&B, Reggae and Dance, 70's - plus latest party/dance tunes - sing to myself as I walk the hills, at least only the birds and sheep can hear me.
MoviesFantasy, Sci Fi, and Adventure. One of my favourite mountains in Wales is Glyder Fawr the highest in the Glyderau. It lies on the ridge between Glyder Fach and Y Garn, and has views to the north, across the Ogwen Valley, of Pen Yr Ole Wen and the Carneddau, and views south to the Snowdon Horseshoe. The summit is very rocky, in the winter it looks almost haunted, especially when you get ice. A notable feature east of the summit is Castell Y Gwynt, "the castle of the wind", a spiky rocky outcrop. The summit marks the boundary of Gwynedd and Conwy County Borough."Castell y Gwynt" and the "Cantilever Stone" were used in Walt Disney's The Dragonslayer, this was one entrance to the Dragon's lair. See my pics of both of these.

Apologies to anyone who looks at my photo album for the bank holiday monday, august 2007. I have uploaded the pics taken going up Pen Yr Ole Wen, Carnedd Dafydd and Carnedd Llywelyn but have spelt Wales second highest mountain incorrectly. Dont know how to change the spelling on the pic library.

Enjoyed watching your slideshow. Some great pictures. Torn between going to the Lake District or Snowdonia in September. I know the Lakes a bit better than North Wales, but your pics might help to make up my mind

Thanks for post comment on the group. Getting qualified T2 is always offputting to people, hopefully when the new rules come in in September this will ease your workload

Hi Eddie.
Just to let you know I am also in the Scout Movement and member of Mountain Activity Team. I hold my M1 paper and working towards my SML. We have mixed reactions within the kids of the district and what showed a promising start is starting to dwindle a bit so we are trying to renew our efforts to get the kids out into the hills.

NEWS!! NEWS!!! NEWS!!!

After our nationwide search for Scouting Superstars, our band line up is now confirmed as Peter 16, from Nottingham, Lucie also 16 from Cardiff, Nick, 16 from Stevenage and Caz from Epping who's 23.

The song was recorded on Saturday 21 April in Caerphilly with vocal support from local Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. The song will be available to pre-order as both CD Single and digital download on 18 June 2007; you can find all the latest updates now on the Jambo Myspace and at www.thejamboree.org/song

The big challenge now is to come up with a name for our band that captures the excitement of Scouting and the World Scout Jamboree. Email your suggestion to: Jambo@scouting2007.org If your idea is chosen, we'll credit you in the CD booklet. A big thank you to everyone who put themselves forward for the band and let's help make the song a success. Wouldn't a number 1 single be the perfect way to cap our year of adventure?

NEWS!! NEWS!!! NEWS!!!

From the hundreds of applications received, we have selected a male and a female lead vocalist for the number one song of the Summer!
Congratulations to Peter and Lucy and a big thank you to everyone who applied for the roles.
We had a recording session on Saturday with the whole cast for the song including Explorers, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers and a short video of the rehearsals is now on our myspace.
In answer to some of the comments - we think that we have a song which fits perfectly with the spirit of Scouting but would also not sound out of place in the pop charts!
We can't let you hear the whole thing yet but you will get the idea from the rehearsal video!

By the way - we are looking for a name for our 'group'. Any suggestions would be most welcome!

Remember, this is YOUR group and YOUR song! Let's get behind 'Jambo' and make it number one!

Thanks for your support,

The Jambo Team
