History :
It is owned by Steve Harris, the bassist of Iron Maiden. The bar features many props used during former Maiden tours, like sarcophagi from the World Slavery Tour 1984/85, Steve Harris' bass, Nicko McBrain's cymbals and signed records, photos and posters of the band. Heavy metal videos are played during the opening hours.
The bar opened in 1989 with Manu Da Silva, a former roadie for Iron Maiden, as manager. Soon fans of the band from around the world started visiting the place. After Manu's death in 2005, the bar closed.
Eddies Bar reopend after one year when its charismatic creator Manu da Silva (2005) died from a long illness.
Two former Iron Maiden band members, Dave Sullivan and Terry Rance, and ex-roadie Jeff Daniels, have joined forces with Siann and Charlie (local people) to re-open Eddies Bar in its original conception as a rock bar and Maiden nexus with the addition of some new ideas.
