In the place where pop, rock, soul, and R&B meet, you’ll find vocalist
Eddy Fontane in the mix singing and expertly arranging the genres to make his own brand of music. He
refers to his audibly pleasing concoction as “musical gumbo,” and this delightfully diverse fusion makes
it impossible to put him in a box and even more impossible to resist listening. A native of Atlanta,
GA, but raised in Dallas, Texas, Eddy has been singing since he was a pre-teen and by the time he
graduated from high school he was penning his own songs. He cites some of his musical influences as
Marvin Gaye, Donnie Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Phil Collins, and Bill Withers.
Unsure of his
destiny, after high school Fontane enrolled in college at the University of West Georgia and obtained a
B.A. in psychology. However, music was not to be denied a prominent place in his life and after
returning to Georgia Eddy dedicated his life to his music, creating a refreshingly different sound for
audiences to enjoy. “Music always had a place in my life. I couldn’t put it down, and it hasn’t let me
down. Each day I wake up with another opportunity to do something I love,” shares Eddy.
A
naturally gifted writer and producer, Eddy’s soulfully smooth voice allows him to deliver
thought-provoking, heart-piercing lyrics that melodically reflect real-life situations. His dedication
and creativity have won him the hearts of local fans and the respect of his peers. One day Eddy even
caught the attention of two time Grammy award-winning artist Cee-Lo. Cee-Lo quickly signed him to be a
part of his new Atlanta-based label, Radiculture Records. The two have been in the studio perfecting
Eddy’s “musical gumbo” and the protégé speaks very highly of his mentor. “In my opinion Cee-Lo is a
legend in this game. He’s so distinctive and incredible at what he does. For him to choose me to help
represent Radiculture and what’s he’s trying to do to revolutionize the music industry is awesome. I
feel blessed to be apart of it,” says Eddy.
The world will catch more than a glimpse of what
Eddy Fontane can do with his first single, “Heartbreaker.” It will impact airwaves fall of 2008
followed by his untitled debut album in March of 2009. “The first song is a good example of how my
music fuses several genres together. Heartbreaker has a universal sound with a constant techno type of
rhythm. In the song, I’m warning a young lady to leave me alone because I don’t want to hurt her. You
can’t blame a man for being honest,” he laughs.
If you’ve been hungry for music that’s far
from ordinary, come appease your appetite at Eddy Fontane’s table. He’ll be serving his delicious
“musical gumbo” to audiences across the globe, and we guarantee you’ll love it!
With both feet planted firmly on the ground, eyes and heart wide open and read for the world, I
introduce to you...Eddy Fontane.
