Band MembersPlayers include drummer Arj, Marcel on bass, Stef on percussion, Sam, Joe, Andy and Pat as Horn Section, Martin D B on Geetar and Ev on Keys. On the rare occasion that his timetable is as flexible as his jowells we share the stage with Mr Fantastic and his turntablism superheroics. There have also been collaborations with drummers john Bjergfelt(heard on triptych'07), Charlie giddings (heard on brokenday lullaby and stefs tune), Mark Claydon (Gene Drayton Unit), and Denzel Lowndes (flipside), Jon Vincent (ManfrediFunkInitiative) as well as Robin Gilmore (BA CMT) on decks and samplers throughout 2005, Nick Malcolm on trumpet (heard on BST and Brokenday lullaby), James Morton (featured on alto in recordings 'the Herb' and 'Triptych' 07), mike Lesirge (tenor solo on 'scubadiva' 07), Chris Apthomas featured on percussion in '07 studio material, Laura Philips (alto) and Dino Christodoulou (suprano saxophone on 06 recordings), jon Freisner on guitar, Ed Hart on drums, James Gardiner Bateman and Craig Crofton on Saxes Alto and tenor respectively, plus guest vocalists Clive TV, Louise Decordova, Oneself, Trudy Mosiamo and of course Madlox (recorded on BST and Triptych)
InfluencesIn no particular order............James Brown and the JBs, Grant Green, Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Lee Scratch Perry, Sun Ra, The Beatles, Otis Redding, Airto, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Booker T and the MGs, Gil Scott heron and Brian Jackson, The Meters, The Roots, Headhunters, Sly and the Family Stone, The Rolling Stones, Herbie Hancock, Stevie wonder, Dr John, Billy Cobham, Bernard Purdy, Lonnie liston Smith, Ray Charles, Thelonious Monk, Toots and the Maytalls, Joni Mitchell, Ella Fitzgerald, Jackie Mittoo, Fela Kuti, The doors..........R.I.P. Jase Rae, unsung superstar and beloved friend. The memories and inspiration you gave to us won't be leaving so soon.
Sounds Like Styles of da funk, from Sly and Robbie to the JBs to the MGs; Fat ass bass, crisp simple funky drummer, exquisitely distorted Wurlitzer piano, horns from free jazz to reggae fill ins, funky chopped guitar in conjunction with Clive TVs chain smoked crushed soul vocal; bit good really![ Decode magazine, Oct 05]............................................................................................................ One of the definite highlights of Ashton Court; A powerful band operating somewhere on the borders of jazz, funk, dub and dance music [ Venue magazine, Jan '07]....................................................................................................Among the funkiest bands in Bristol at the moment, Edenheight play a heavy brand of explosive 70s dance grooves guaranteed to fill the dance floor [western soul, sept '07]......................................................................................................... In the midst of everyday life, where something normally vibrant within the psyche can be starched flat, given a drubbing, or distorted beyond recognition, there are heaven-sent bands like Edenheight to readdress the balance...Bristolians Edenheight present a repertoire of dub-inflected meanderings and a healthy smattering of jazz-funk attitude... Abundant in atmosphere but never sickly like cake icing, seldom have I ventured to the cellar when the vibes have been this spectacularly intense. Edenheight are at their best when the instruments are left to ornament and careen wildly - the saxophone sections in particular, and distilled to the most vital levels of conditioning. The arrival of Madlox applies an underlying pulse to the evening. The partying audience lap this up, dancing with red shoes on. Working in unison, the sax men vary their inhalation technique to great effect, the group alternating numbers throughout but always making more than just a pretty sound. Madlox rides with the lyric "You know I wanna do anything you wanna do", attracting bodies closer by a word to "Get down", whereby the crowd show an affinity and respect by doing as he says. Ultimately, what's at stake with gigs like this? Edenheight have a simple answer: pleasure. [Muttley press, 2009]

   About edenheight
Edenheight write original breaks in styles from heavy funk and jazz to hip hop, afrobeat to roots/dub reggae;............................................... The tunes incorporate a high energy musical precident and studio production technique with live and improvised open structure excursions. The product is a band who work well with a full dance floor or a crowd of chin scratchers, and as such edenheight have risen quickly in the vibrant live music underground of Bristol and Bath Since launching the live project in the UK, May 2005.................................................. The band have gigged extensively, noteably including big club nights in Bristol and Bath for NYE 2005 and 2006, a Headlining appearance at Walcott Nation Day (Bath Fringe festival Climax 2006), Ashton Court 2006 and 2007, Shambala festival 2007, and Glastonbury 2008. The live formation typically features both guest vocalists and various invitees, alongside the core section comprising drums, percussion, bass, guitar, keys, 2 piece horn section and samples/dj. Listen out for new material recorded in bristol later this year.
