With their aggressive and melodic melodies, Edenic is not a band to be underestimated. Formed in the summer of 2001 by Ruben Prieto (guitarist and vocalist) and Joshua Taylor (percussionist), this band found its start in Sacramento, California. They have since relocated to the St. Louis Metro East area where they are now working on material for their next big release. These two young men, with their thriving talent and passion for music, use their struggles and pain stemming from emotional disconnection to create such a sound that no one would guess there were only two members in the band. Believing that if they played loud enough and hard enough for long enough, Ruben and Josh have devoted their lives to their music, as is apparent by the deepness and beauty in their edgy yet melodic songs. We see eye to eye in our music. says Ruben, From the first day we played, we clicked, and we knew something great was going to happen. Every song has a meaning of its own. You can rest assured that these guys can deliver some truly awesome performances, and still remain the down to earth guys they are now; theres no doubt about that.
Demo details- The music was recorded at Jupiter Studios in St. Louis, Missouri; more recent material was recorded in the basement of their current residence. Vocals were recorded at the Escape and in Rubens room of his current residence (in reference to newer material). Lyrics were written on and off from 2001 to present. Enough material exists to make two full albums and a double CD. Meaning of the word edenic: A state of happiness, and/or a state of destruction (taken from the phrase Garden of Eden).
