Influences
We were raised on 80s Metal. However, when Savatage came along, it hit a nerve. We didn't want to copy, but the influence to sound unique is there. Another influence would be Yngwie Malmsteen, Vinnie Moore, Jake E. Lee & George Lynch. In 1988 we got more into Thrash Metal, which made our Rhythms even heavier. I really appreciate the music in Jon Olivas Pain.
Sounds Like
Were wanting to create our own sound. Todd & myself had decided 18yrs ago, that we would make our own musical path. Nothing will change! Remember... a look is a look. When we plug in and play, you'll know its Eden Myrrh.
† e'dan-mur † ~~ Eden (Paradise of God) - Myrrh (Suffering). † A Review from Metallum in 2007 - "The name Eden Myrrh is a reference to God and Paradise. Though the band states that they are not overly motivated by religion. The name represents how the master plan of Heaven, can take a turn for the worst when humans enter the equation".
† Thanks, for coming to our site. My name is Nikko. The first chapter of Eden Myrrh can be read (with pics) in the blog. I encourage you to check it out. It explains alot regarding the finishing of our older music. Feel free to leave a comment there. Currently we are recording. Most recently, on May 9th-2008 I finished 'Timeless (Box set 3 cds)'. As well on August 13th-2008 we completed the 'Eden Myrrh' 15th anniversary re-issue cd. Brad (Drums) & Trent (Bass) did a awesome job helping me finish it. In August 2009 we started the recording of 'Insurrection' & 'And Fire for all my Friends'. These songs are more structured & have lyrics for vocal melody. So for now remember that some of the song tracks are demos done by 4-track. They have yet to be cleaned-up, just like we did with the first. Finishing what Todd & I began, is simply RESPECT! With New band member Quimby (vocals). 2010 will be a year of Closure & start of Future Endevours!
