Growing up in edgemont park brings back some of the most wonderful memories....I remember the walks to school in the mornings and having to jump over the creek at dead end at the end of sycomore, my parents would never let me go "around the road" hickory tree, unless it was way to muddy to cross over the creek..I remeber hot summers riding bikes until the sun went down and waiting for the icecream truck to come through. Trips to Sadlers where we would load up on BBQ and penny candies. As we got older I can remember the calmness of the neighborhood when we would walk to one of the many bus stops in that neighborhood for school. My mother grew up in this neighborhood, and so did I, my grandmother lived in the center house on grove cir for 30 or more years until her death in 1991, this is where we lived until my mother got an apartment in Hickory tree apts then we got a house on sringlake and then later moved to a house @ 1841 mt pleasant. in 1993 We left edgemont park. Now my brother who is 25 has moved back he now lives on springlake...wow the memories....

About me:
This site is for anyone who grew up in or lived in Edgemont park..in mesquite Tx, or played on the Longhorns pee wee football or drill
It is such a small neigborhood..but it has a lot of history for a lot of us. I grew up there as well as my parents. Some of us still live there or have parents or relatives that live there. Please if anyone has any pics or memories and would like them posted please email me at charisbutler@comcast.net.

History of Edgemont Park
Did you know that Edgemont Park used to be the Diamond D Ranch? It was a cattle farm before it was a community!
The house at the corner of Hickory Tree and Springlake was the original farmhouse!
- Early Settlers-
Our neighborhood dates back to the Republic of Texas! The Bennett Family was one of the original settlers to Mesquite!

Edgemont Park used to have a community park,but was eradicated, for some reason, and replaced with a parking lot. The name of the park was Mother Goose park. It had a Mother goose boot, see-saw, merry-go-round. It was used and enjoyed by many members of Edgemont Park.
