Thanks to everyone who came by the pub. Its because of YOU that we can have such amazing entertainment right here in this little bar in the middle of nowhere Minnesota!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for your support of this place. We've beaten the odds so far.
In April it will be 2 years. 2 years without a name. 2 years of incredible shows, beers and good times- with hopefully many more to follow.
When I opened this place I didn't know what to expect. I had some ideas about what would happen, who would come by, etc. My friend Mark at the great Mars Bar in Seattle gave me this nugget of Wisdom: "You don't choose your customers, they choose you." Well, thank you for choosing this place when you go out to get drinks, play music, hang artwork, have meetings, etc.
Although it is a business venture, I want you all to know I sincerely want more than anything to help facilitate the art community in Winona. It is my passion to see the artists, musicians, writers, actors and all who create, keep having reasons to do better, to take chances, to be crazy and creative. Art was a central part of my business plan, and continues to be the reason I am in business and stay in business.
I've been a music and art lover my whole life. I go to shows and plays, I go see art exhibits of all sorts, no matter where I am. I can honestly say that in the past year and 1/2 I have seen more amazing entertainment right here in my own place than I have seen in the rest of my 32 years combined. The fact that often these amazing moments are crafted by people I consider my friends makes it even more incredible and meaningful. It moves me to tears at times.
