The Downtown Edinboro Art & Music Festival is a three-day event planned late in the spring in order to help kick off the summer folk festival season. Our event is a showcase of grassroots music and art in the unique spirit of Appalachian tradition. The festival offers a broad range of free music and dance workshops, performing arts, square dancing, a quilt show, and visual arts. Music is a large focus of the festival. We feature three stages for public presentations of musical performance throughout the community. Jam sessions are encouraged and found in and around the festival. The festival is extremely family-oriented and will please youngsters and old-timers alike. Attendance, which began as a few hundred people, has increased to well into the 1,000+ range as of 2005. Each successive year we have been able to invite greater quality performers and instructors. We pride ourselves on being able to provide high-quality, nationally acclaimed music instructors. Finally, we are able to offer one of Erie County’s only free music and dance workshop opportunities to community members of all ages.
