Names and Dates No1 (for piano) (©2009) a first draft recording of a series of short piano pieces where the pitches used are derived from names and dates. This first piece uses the name of my friends newborn son, which, interestingly, maps onto two pitch class sets of the same cardinal number with only one pitch class difference (a rare quality as per my research so far). Also the complements of those sets have been used. Recorded on an old upright piano at my moms house with my budget mobile DAT recording set up, next to a fairly busy road unfortunately///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Actually Real = Me (off 14 Tracks/Pieces, 2004 Planet Mu, released in 2004 but mostly made in 2001, then remixed and tweaked a bit in between). Electronic piece, featuring occasional rhodes piano, helicopter engine noises, lots of drum samples and things made in Reaktor, all sorts of stuff. Engineered and mixed by me, mastered by me and Alex Dromgool (hasn't transferred to the myspace player very well for some reason, sounds a bit flat, buy the CD or decent MP3 for a fuller effect/hit).

Fewer Ways, More Ways, 24 VAish = Me playing Bb Trumpet, Violin, Double Bass, Clarinet, Tenor Sax. Very processed and edited (pitch shifting, cutting and pasting, time stretching, to create a slightly unreal quarter tone effect at times, and impossible glissandos). Off 14 Tracks/Pieces, 2004 Planet Mu.

Complaint From My Neighbour = Recorded and mixed by me, featuring ex-neighbour 'Ken' on vocals, he also wrote the 'script', thanks Ken (2004 or 2005 I think, unreleased, unsurprisingly).

All FES pieces engineered and mixed by Zlatko Baracskai (preliminary mixes so far, will probably be improved in due course if needs be), recorded in the Elgar Concert Room at Birmingham University (hence the name F.E.S., 'Free Elgar Sessions', see myspace friendlist for Zlatko's FES page with links to the unedited raw tracks, hours and hours and hours of it).
